I disagree, you can have vanilla coupled with all kinds of fetishes and other tags or elements. You can also have a manga that is not vanilla but lacks other elements significant enough to be used to describe it.

Vanilla is romantic, loving or cute sex and intimacy, sometimes all of those. Happy sex is overlaps with vanilla but IMO falls short because it's just having sex happily, while it's usually found in vanilla stuff it doesn't have to be.
