I don't understand why people think 2016 was an especially bad year for new series, it had a success rate of 3/8 currently, Yuragisou, Kimetsu, and Neverland are winners and Demon's Plan and Ole Golazo are still up in the air, so at worst 3/10 were hits this year.

2015 had 3 out of 12 new series last. 2014 had 2 out of 14. 2013 had 2 out of 10.

So Hero Academia? The author never shows off every aspect of the world, it's just training arc, tournament arc, villain arc. We never learn outside of it, hell 100 chapters in and we learned that it was actually just a joke about UA being the n1 because it has a rival school in the west/east or whatever that totally didn't come out of nowhere just for the chunn- I mean the hero license exam.

Just admit that you're talking out your ass, "muh heart" is not a thing you retard you just don't like it and you're saying it has no "heart" because your ass says so.

I feel like I'm getting memed on here.

I'm a big fan of MHA but really it feels like the action/fights could be better overall. The sheer lack of consistent action is why it's so weird they're going with this 13-ep cour stuff with the anime.

In season 1 theres:

-a fight between Deku and Bakugou with nothing really at stake but pride.

and

-Aizawa clowns a bunch of mooks until he gets fucking wrecked by the Super Noumu, who then gets wrecked by All Might.

...that's it. The rest is stuff that Bones had to punch up to fill the arc out. The All Might v Noumu fight got significantly punched up because it was like 1-2 fucking pages in the manga.

The series only really gets rolling around the Stain Arc and we're just kinda pushing a boulder uphill getting to it. I love all the character building from the sports festival and downtime arcs but this shit ain't slice of life and the glacial pacing of the anime can't be attractive to anyone who isn't already reading the manga.

Emma is confused after hearing Sister Krone's offer. But Norman figures out her motives right away. Sister explains Emma how the farm is managed.
Sister: There are two conditions you have to fufill to become a Mama. You need to reach a certain level during the tests and a previous Mama has to recommend you.
If you fulfill these conditions as a 12 year old girl, you will have two options during your shipment.
1. Die.
2. Become a Mama.
Sister explains that becoming a Mama is troublesome as she shows them her chest. A 'Keeper' gets the chip implemented into their heart. As soon as one steps out of the farm, the chip will kill the Mama then and there. No exceptions. [TL/N: Like in GANTZ!] If the heart of a Keeper stops for another reason, the demons get informed by the chip. Sister can only live in that farm as it seems and suggests to take out Isabella's hands, but Norman once again notices her true aim.
Norman: (There's no evidence for the stuff we're doing, so you can't ship us out, but if we give you evidence, you'll do just that.)
Sister knew that Norman figured her out.
Sister and Norman join hands, while both are aware of the others intentions and that the other knows theirs.
That night Norman and Emma visit Sister's room as she's about to tell them things that only she knows about.

The thing about BC tho is that the characters are so fucking one dimensional it hurts.
A good example would be Yami.
Even though he just is the tired teacher arcetype he is the most likeable character in the series because at least he adds a little flavour to it.

We could also compare it to Dragonball Super in a way with it's villains.
I can't even remember the name of those guys in BC, the ones that are loved by mana or some shit.
The first big bad that gets taken out is comepletly bland has is motives are also bland and has been seen before
Zamasu from Supers motive has also been done to death a million times but at least he has some funny interactions and cool dialog with himself and the characters around him, making him one of the better villains in the serise even though he follows standart DBZ checkbox protocol.

I think 2015 might be like 2011. In 2011, there were 3 new series that lasted over a year, Nisekoi, Magico, and Kurogane. It was a really bad year but the next year was fantastic, they got a bunch of heavy hitters and could then afford to drop Magico and Kurogane. It kind of parallels Black Clover, Sesuji, and Samon. One middling success and two hanger-ons that aren't popular.

Problem is that 2016 wasn't like 2012, more big series ended this year than started, so they're keeping stuff like Sesuji and Samon around for another year, but if 2017 does great then those two are goners.
