That's true. A lot of people in the west treat zombie stuff as some sort of wish fulfillment which leads to appealing to the common man.
Even though after chapter 200 the manga isn't really a zombie manga anymore

Probably one of the best zombie stories ever done. Author does a good job at writing women. My only problem is later on it becomes a bit hard to follow for about 20 chapters.

I am still surprised HotD got an anime seeing how it was on eternal hiatus at the time. Zombies just don't lend themselves to a conclusive ending in general, the problem is just to big to solve.

I liked it until it became about "Super-powered half-zombies." That just feels so generic and like the antithesis of what the series was before.
