I like convincing characters, who are not complete caricatures of one extreme. Unfortunately, Japan doesn't understand what "middle ground" means, and is incapable of writing anything that isn't a) an 100% clueless hyper-pure virgin or b) an NTRing turboslut.

Is purity even a thing in anime anymore? I was under the impression that anime was so sexualized now that pure girls either didn't exist or was just there to be exploited to satisfy Japs weird corruption fetish. No, it wasn't an insult. Everyone is necessarily a virgin early in life and fewer later. The appeal of a focus on purity in anime just tends to wear off as you get older because of this. It doesn't help that most anime take place in a high school setting. I just meant to point out that what they said succinctly shows why there is such a difference in opinion between the two sides. I'm sure there are outliers like old men into virginity hentai or teens into experienced women, but I think this is the reason for most people being on the side they're on with regard to purity.
