Partially yes, but I also felt that especially the last episode was rushed. They crammed 2 or maybe even 3 episodes worth of content into just one. They did good with the more episodic self-contained ones, the handling of the overarching plot is a little bit more awkward as far as I'm concerned.

I can pretty much sum up my feelings with the fact that I only watched it now, where as for past episodes I have been incredibly excited.
That's not to say that I think flap flap has gone bad or anything like that, just that this isn't to my taste. Almost every PI was fantastic, marimite-world remains my favourite, everything about that episode was brilliant.

In hindsight the plot has obviously been leading up to this, but I'm not entirely sure why they felt the need to justify the show's existence with a climactic series of revelations and conflict when its real strengths lay elsewhere. They had something that was consistently unique and this feels like a fall back into a traditional anime finale, like I said, it all depends on the final two episodes.

Yes I can. There's plenty of material to create to show the relationship between Mimi and Papikana, Salt and Mimi, the whole pregnancy thing and maybe even elaborate more on Darth Mimi so she doesn't just appear out of the left field. Hell, an entire episode with Mimi and Papikana going into a PI would have been great to showcase the difference between their relationship and whatever Papika and Cocona are going to settle for in the finale.

Yeah I get all that but that slows the delivery of the of the climax down. There would be next to no hype for the next episode if it went at this pace. Its the fact that it is happening so fast that:

1: makes the characters feel like they are winging it and just reacting to all the shit that is happening right now.

2: Makes it feel like it is just as unexpected for them as it is for us the audience (Inb4 but we knew it was coming).

The show has from the beginning set out to tell a story where there is very little dramatic irony. We are meant to know as much as the characters know for the most part, which is honestly very little.

They needed to build up a big bad for the finale, that's what we're getting right now, so Cocona's rejection of her mother (authority) and confession of love will feel much more satisfying. Also they needed Papika and Yayaka to team up somehow.

I'm not liking how they crammed so much bullshit in two episodes either, but as said in previous threads, willing to overlook all of it if the ending makes my heart go dokidoki.
