Koe no Katachi was fucking great, 2nd best movie of the year. I'm liking Hibikek S2 as well, but it's not quite as good as S1.

Didn't watch Phantom, AmaBuri was OK.

If the images in the OP are considered recent KyoAni-shows, then I would count Myriad Colors Phantom World solely on the fact that it is the only KyoAni-show I've watched.

Not that is opinion worthy of paying attention to and discussing.

Tamako i found a TV series being very weak - with few highlights, but generally the plot with the prince and bird being entirely pointless and whole memorable moment in series being Tamako`s mothers story. So hardly can agree with it being second best - its well animated, cute: but TV was a misshot.

Meanwhile Chu2 had very certain issues with unnecessary and badly paced drama, but overall i consider much better comedy show than Amagi - Chu2 Light alone beats it, and character dynamic in Chu2 made it really work with gags being more natural than Amagi - which was more satire and had more rude type of humor. Amagi is Fumuffu 0.5 - not as good as it though.

Free issue was it was show about boys that acted like K-On girls

Not for KyoAni. They get to pick their works and refuse if dont want (as they did BTFO Key shit).

Their only 'outside' recent work was Amagi, and that was done since Gotoh is pretty much honorary KyoAni member and buddy with Takemoto. They agreed to make Hyouka for Kadokawa also because it suited them well adn Gotoh went forward as script writer for it too.

So them adapting Maid Dragon is Takemoto doing stuff he wants again, as with Amagi.
