This generation of manga is kinda weird; but almost back to where we were 10-20 years ago. I feel like we got set back. But I'm cool with it and open to them and giving them a try. Was hoping for a more progressive post modern gintama and bobobo really.

Samon is following Gintama's style of comedy and action.

Basically they are looking for undiscovered writers who could supply scripts. This could mean that they would focus on new manga that has a promising writer that has an artist assigned to him.

It makes sense, there must be a lot of okay writers who can't draw to save their own lives. It is an untapped pool of talent.

Dude you have no idea. People seem to think learning to draw is easy. It's fucking not, and for people who have good ideas but can't get them to a visual medium it's a nightmare.

I think this is a good idea. Just because you're a good artist doesn't mean you're a good writer and vice-versa. Get somebody that's a proven writer and attach him to a good artist and odds are you'll get better works.
American and European comics have had this division of labor between writers and artists for decades, although the artist will often give the writer ideas or add their own little details.

You do. If not for their current disaster Platinum End Bakuman would be their worst work due to how many wasted opportunities it never capitalized on so when you reach the end you kinda feel nothing was gained especially since they skipped the love interest's voice acting subplot. I think that's best to describe Ohba really, great concept shoddy execution but he seems to not have it in him anymore since Platinum has a shitty concept from out the bat.

The last stuff I kept up with was stuff like Bakuman, assclass and beelzebulb. Stuff like sket dance, world trigger, my hero and all these other weird contemporary stuff that came out of nowhere were just weird and odd I never came across or heard of them. I haven't even been keeping up with stuff like black clover, promised neverland, demons plan all snuck up on me and didn't even notice them. I didnt even know I missed out on far more like Kirkuko and that attorney one Obata did before platinum end. I only kept up with one piece and Gintama. Those were the only good ones I came across; I barely came across Yaiba and can tell it's the better of all the new ones out right now. These other ones snuck up on me and had no clue they existed all these years. It's weird.

Jump is gonna suck once all these big ones like one piece and gintama are gone. It's gonna be up to Yaiba and jump is going to pull another yyh and hxh on another togashi like they did back in the 90's.

Jump is surely entering its darkest days soon now that all their major big hitters will be gone years from now and soon.

They might want to reconsider bringing back stuff that got cancelled just to help keep them above water for the time being until another promising project comes along the way. Oda is probably not gonna be able to hold out much longer soon.
