Anon this only happens about 100% of the time.

On a more general note, people only watch Shaft shows for wacky animation styles and gag humor. 3GnL has Shinbou toning down his dopey visual knacks and isn't a gag humor series, simple as. The source material frankly suits KyoAni more (studio fanboys will never admit this, of course)

It's a real shame 3gatsu got the Shaft treatment.
The manga is a masterpiece, in a complete different league to Kyoani's inane teenage melodrama, but Shaft utterly raped it.
