Well, I read an interview from WWII veterans in my country who said that gay relations were actually quite common and tolerated in the warfront. As a person who works in movie industry I can tell you there are only two possible endings here. You might not like it, but that's how storytelling works

First of all, I want to say that I wasn't aware of "Viktor has cancer" theory until I've already seen last week's episode and started googling to see it there's manga I can read. I was sure they're going with option no.2 until last week. Here's why.
The opening scene. When you show a character floating on water, it symbolizes death and powerlessness. Not only that, but also the way he talks how yuri's eyes look like when he's looking for something (Viktor is looking at him in silence), the way the whole episode is narrated, he leaves before Yuri wakes up and goes on a beach, he's looking at the ring as sunlight bursts through his fingers, he's lost in thoughts, his line about being willing to fight, how he says Yuri taught him a lot about life and love, how they just stand there after he says he's tired (the prolonged scene is there to accentuate the fact that he's tired), he says he hasn't spent this much time with his dog since forever, he can eat delicious food all he wants, he's living every day as if it was his last etc. It's not all that much about what he says but HOW he says it and how the whole episode is DIRECTED. To put it simple, a (good) story can't have the same tone from the start to the end. Something must change, Yuri can't keep "winning" everything, he has to lose something in oorder for his character to be challenged. Viktor was his idol since he saw him for the first time, he becomes his coach, his friend, his lover. But what would have Yuri done without him? See, that's the main part of Yuri's hero's journey!

I know many people here will not want to listen to this and it's ok, I don't mind. I just wanted to give you few hints about the direction this story is most likely going. Basically, in 10th episode Viktor was saying/foreshadowing his own death in storytelling language

Look cunts, I like baldfat and I want it to happen just as much as the next fujo, but not having any spoken confirmation between the two characters is not enough. Yuri has denied victor on multiple occasions with his wishy-washy attitude and Victor is a tease. It feels awkward as fuck for them not to have the characters say anything about it on screen, and even more so after the rings. At this point, the rings feel like the stupidest bait move they could use if said characters are still confused about each other and haven't talked it out.

I hope something is resolved by the last episode, but if it isn't, then this really is bait.

Yes, I fucking do. If I wanted to watch cute boys doing cute shit with each other with no relationships, I'd watch Free! or other shit. YoI has come a long way in what it feels like they're trying to do, but until we get confirmation on both sides, they're not together and this is all just fuel for doujins and fanfics to do the work for the show.
