The Stand designs alone run the gamut of cool, creepy, funny and downright horrifying, often all at once.

Each character is instantly recognizable, with each JoJo being completely unique (with the exception of Jon and Joey, which was intentional to highlight the fact that despite being VERY similar physically, they have very different personalities). Even the supporting characters are distinct. The only valid complaint with his artstyle would be that he has a biy of sameface when he draws women.

So yes, overall Araki has some of the best designs in manga.

Araki has a talent for making very recognizable, visually engaging designs even for minor villains. He shows multiple times that he has a great understanding of elements that make for a good design and how to balance these elements, and even get an entire character across through design alone. His designs have a lot of different cultural or historical influences that he utilizes to make sure each character has a distinct silhouette and clothing. Even before you get to know the characters, their designs can often tell you plenty about who or what they are.

It's undeniable that JJBA has fantastic character design.

it varies. The stand designs are always interesting, until 7 where they stop really manifesting as much and you can tell he just drew whatever weird shit he wanted with no consideration to how it would move, because it just needs to appear once on the stat sheet.

character designs in 1 and 2 are just kinda stupid or boring, (Stroheim being a major exception), but 3 and 4 are fucking great. 5 has some of the stupidest shit I've ever seen, among a few decent ones, but he dialed it back a bit for 6. 7 was great again. 8 has actually been almost too normal, I can't remember any distinctive outfits aside from Gappy and Joshuu's belhop getup. Well I guess Norisuke was wearing Marty McFly's jacket.

watching the anime cover it again, I'm surprised how frustrated I was. Why the fuck can Hayato see the bubble, but Josuke can't, so Hayato has to tell him where it is?
