To put it bluntly: there is none. Well, none that is permanent. Art is a cultural movement and it is prone to changes. If there is any solid strategy to make money out of art, no studio would ever produce any other flavor of a genre.

If you want to make money, just find what you believe is hot at the moment then reflavor it with your own style. Focus on quantity over quality and soon, fans would start subscribing.

Such a shame I cannot stomach that and I chose to be a part time wage cuck while writing pieces that does not cater to normalfags. All for the hope of being rewarded with a literature award before I die

The ones that sell well all have good plots as far as the anime related mediums are concerned.

Expect for IS I suppose but, that one was a fluke - the allure of international waifus in combination with a matriarchal society was too much for the manchildren to pass on.

Also they have good pacing, and better than average worldbuilding. A lot of good side characters - most of the others pretty much have the MC and then Extra A, Extra B and Extra C.

The answer is probably initial following. LNs that were already doing well sell anime well. Everything else is sold on the merit of the actual anime. This leads to a lot of shitty anime that doesn't do well.

How profitable is it to put the plot summary in the title instead of on the back?

Does this ranking list really apply for the whole of Japan? Its a bit hard to believe. Where are the LNs that don't have any of these elements? I'm talking about stuff like Kino's Journey or Spice and Wolf. Everything on that list looks like a harem of some kind with the possible exception of Re:Zero.

Are there literally no romance, detective, battle shounen or horror LNs? Or does that list simply exclude every genre except harems?

It has to do with world building. Making a setting that the audience will want to be a part of. Make the audience invest time thinking about the world, the setting, the characters. Not just creating a superficial experience, but one where dialogue can be facilitated.
