I think you need the context to be able to answer who exactly "We" and "You" refer to. Kubo is weird in that he uses advanced vocabulary, but sometimes appear to simply have a bad grasp at grammar. So without knowing just how fluent Kubo is actually, and how deliberate is his Engrish, a conclusion can't be drawn.

- The Seretei was almost completely destroyed and it took about three years for the Gotei to resume duties.
- The first ward, with most of the important facilities, took the most damage.
- All civilians were safe and sheltered in the underground. When they came back out of safety they found the Seretei "scorched".
- Shaz Domino killed about half of the members of C46 and many more resigned after the war. C46 became basically non functional.
- C46 member and Izuru Kira admirer Amakado Nyura (from the 13th Blades Story) was one of the main responsible persons for the reconstruction of the Seretei.
- She cooperated with Shunsui to pass one temporary law after another, so that they all can move forward.

They basically installed a recording station at each gate and if one wants to go in, they simply have to show a certificate to the gate keepers (no word so far on whether those are new ones or not or what happened to Jidanbo after Giselle zombified him and Pepe later mind controlled). This allowed for easier cooperation with the people of the Rukongai. At the same time the Shinigami academy makes now finger print tests or something like that.

- The Gotei lost about half of its members.
- The Second Blood War was dubbed "The Spirit King Protection War".
- Two years after the war they established an apprentice system in the Shinigami academy in order to fill the necessary man power. It seems the Shinigami academy became more like Shinigami university. It seems to be a popular change with the students.
- Kira is speaking in front of the students to teach them more about the way of the Shinigami. Hinamori and Renji did in the previous two years respectively.
- The new director/manager of the academy is the third seat of the 5th division Isawa Genji.
- Isawa Genji graduated in the same year as Kira and the others and in the first invasion he lost his legs (while no one was mentioned, the way the injury was described seems to imply that it was Bambietta who blew his legs off). While the 12th division was able to make him prosthetics, his days as a Shinigami were over since these artificial legs cannot be used for Hoho or Shunpo. He wanted to quit the Gotei, but Shinji recommended him for the position of the director.
- He is apparently known as the "tiger of paper work" thanks to Hinamori. Aizen and Shinji are apparently the dragon and hawk of paper work respectively.
- Kira lost 30% of his body and as already stated is now one of the living dead. Mayuri did it without permission.
- The Seretei Bulletin lead by Squad 9 was closed after the war, but resumed production after a year or two. The first publications were things like lists of the deceased, new discoveries, reconstruction and damage protocols, etc. Mayuri still published his scientific breakthroughs and other shenanigans though, among them Kira's reanimation. Everyone knows now that Kira is now a zombie (no word on the other zombies though). It was apparently an article with quite the macabre humor.

Ichihime isn't popular enough for that, meanwhile Renruki is fairly popular and Rukia has always been the favorite female character plus the RR wedding being the focus means SS and the shinigami will get some spotlight. Orihime's feelings for Ichigo were highlighted a few in one of the novels though so I think we'll be getting some Ichihime.

This is all shit that should have been in the goddamn manga.

Narita did those hack-tier novels about Kenpachi (though they had lots of interesting concepts in them), but the short novel he did for the 13 Blades was great. Shaz was the only shit retcon but whatever, the whole thing he did with the C46, their mentality, their "fear" of shinigami was honestly great.

Kubo should have put that kind of things into the manga, not muh sekrit power up bankai and crap like that, he was never good at it.

I just hope we'll manage to have full translations of these novels, they look very promising.

I've always loved the way Kubo wrote RenRuki—it's not overdone like most shonen manga pairings; it's very subtle yet you can easily pinpoint it too. Kubo is really good at writing unique relationships.
