Victory Gundam? It's probably the best show Tomino has ever made (though I suppose that's not saying much). Strong characters, excellent themes, fantastically orchestrated soundtrack, well-choreographed fights and great mecha design, topped off with a phenomenal finale. It's my favourite /m/ show.

It's an offer to people with a niche interest to give them a safe space to talk about their interest.

You can compare it to /vr/. It's an offer to people who want to talk about something that wouldn't get enough activity to remain on the mainstream board. That doesn't mean /v/ isn't allowed to talk about older games.

Even for containment boards, there are two levels. Enforced containment, and encouraged containment. MLP is the former, Pokémon is the latter. Mecha is neither.

This is why /asp/ sucks. It was supposed to be a safe space for the less mainstream sports that couldn't sustain themselves on /sp/, then they tried to mix it with containment of what ruined /sp/, and now it's useless as a safe space for the less popular sports, which is what it was originally intended to be.
