In terms of how much content they adapt. It feels slow after the rest of the season since they've done 5 and 6 chapters for most episodes and skipped a lot of stuff. If you've read the manga prior to the anime then these episodes were great, though I can see where you're coming from in terms of not reading the manga.

It was his Stand but it acted like a separate entity to him since it all it wanted was to trap people. I think the biggest problem with direction in Part 4 is that they can't pace the scenes not the chapters. The scenes that must be short are made long, the scenes that ask for some time and exposure are too short. It makes an episode reallt hard to watch sometimes. I could have bear with it when the action wasn't that important but this is the last fight.

There's also little things: Kira's bragging is too loud, Rohan and the crew looks like they are too close, they didn't pay enough time to Kira's aiming thought process, and because some scenes are too long, it looks like the characters are just standing there for hours while doing nothing

There's a reason no one even attempted to try and adapt this series before 2012, it's a fuckhuge undertaking and the hate you'd get from fucking it up would ruin you as a studio. That's how it was in the manga. Unfortunately they're kinda damned if they do, damned if they don't in that regard.

If they stray too far from the manga the scenes flow better overall in animation but the fans get pissed because it's not shot-for-shot exactly like the manga.

If they stick to how scenes were composed in the manga the fans are happy but you get episodes like today's where the action is all happening in a single location and there's not a ton of movement, which makes the whole thing feel kind of awkward.

I'm not saying they should have changed the entirety of the fight of course, but I would have been okay with them taking some liberties as far as character positioning and time between things happening.

Don't get me wrong, JJBA's main quality is being fun, but I also think Araki has been deceptively clever in his writing since day 1.

Although the plot always leaves to be desired, Araki repeatedly said that he wasn't writing clever plots, but whatever interested him. It takes writing skill to create strong impactful scenes, and Araki is a master of these. If there's something Jojo is not, it's forgettable. When he wants to cry, to be pumped up, to beg for the next chapter, he'll do it.
Araki also has a knack for creating characters. The great majority of them stay on the mind, and the cast is really diverse. Some of them, like Giorno and Joseph, have depths that aren't actually shoehorned too, Giorno being actually an introvert pretending to be a classy charismatic guy while Joseph always shows how much he values kinship.
Finally, I like how the series tries to talk about something else than "friendship/nakama/doyourbest/followyourdreams" stuff that's prevalent in most series. The series has talked about the nature of destiny and how one should define their happiness. He doesn't only tell us that we should uphold the Japanese ideal, but is talking about how humans are at their best and sometimes at their worst in JJBA.

The series isn't perfect by any means, if you judge it objectively, it's really more flawed than many other stuff, but goddamn when the serie's at its best, nothing can compare to JJBA.

It's unironically my favorite series. I could state all the obvious reasons, but really I think the biggest reason why I love it, is consistently hitting the sweet spot between drama and over the top ridiculousness - something I think most anime get wrong.

I've watched loads of high rated anime that have interesting premises, but then you're totally taken out of it when suddenly they're throwing retarded cutesy chibi humor in your face - then goes back to trying to be sincere. I just can't appreciate any series that pulls this shit, as both the drama and the "humor" becomes meaningless.

In JoJo, Araki balances these elements perfectly 99% of the time. I don't know how to explain it other than when you have your typical "bizarre" moment, Araki often plays it shockingly straight without going

I love it. The characters are generally more original than the stock standard types you see everywhere else. The fact that there's no Power Level type shit so every villain is a danger, the villains are amazing. After PB it really just became it's own thing and nothing else is like it.

I'm genuinely surprised at all the people complaining about the episode, this episode had some of the best shots of Killer Queen we've ever had, and that streetbrawl was the best animated fight sequence in the whole adaptation. My only complaint would be all the dialogue but maybe that's just because that portion of the fight doesn't translate well into animation.

Hopefully next week they play up the tension of the cat-and-mouse fight in the house and nail Okuyasu's revival sequence. Also, with the pure sakuga of the street brawl scene, got no doubts that they'll do something similar again for the "Bring out your Killer Queen" part.

I think it's pretty dumb with characters that barely resemble human beings, with the understanding of a child of how adults behave.
Yet, it's the same child-like ideas that make the series so creative. No idea is stupid or weird enough, and every single one is used to its fullest and most interesting in these weird amazing mind game full of legit suspense.
For everything Jojo does wrong, it does something so SO right. I'll gladly recommend Jojo for its ballsy crazy nature with the warning of having patience and understanding of its weird character writing, because the hype is fucking real with this series.

Animeonlyfag here, but what's the general consensus on this fight? I've seen some complaints but the past 3 episodes including this one have been the best final battle in the anime so far, the tension of BTD and the awesomeness of the Kira/Josuke confrontation have been fucking amazing. Love how the fight isn't just a slugfest repeated for 20 minutes and actually has tactics.

You know what I was thinking during that scene in the episode. Why didn't he make Josuke realize that he had placed a bomb on his body? I know that Josuke's blood is boiling and he wants to save his friend so no matter what he'd touch him because his noggin wasn't jogging at the time but wouldn't it make more sense for Josuke at the last second remember a really similar incident with Aya where he had placed a bomb on her and waited for them to touch her? And then he'd turn around to Kira asking him what did he do to his body?

It would've been much better then a non-stand user realizing the intent "because I saw an maniacal expression on his face" and since 'Crazy D' arc is Josuke's time to shine so why not make shine even more by reincorporating his past experience with Aya? Man, their geography was so screwed this episode. Not only Kira's placement in terms of where he stands while he's launching air bubbles but also that corner is a fucking space bent if I've ever seen one. Look at this.

So he launches and air bubble and on the right from Killer Queen we see that fence where Okuyasu was lying, we also see Kira himself so they've got to be close to that corner, right? But then literally next shot - PUFF, gone, no Killer Queen, no Kira because they teleported back again to the edge of the corner where he usually is and now he's counting down those 7 meters even though he launched that bubble almost a meter from them.

At least one thing DIU BD's consistently fix are the sizes and character placements, so it might get fixed later on.

Those don't necessarily look that bad, they're lacking some detail but that's obviously going to be fixed up in the BDs. I'm just saying those shots don't detract nearly as much from the episode as everyone's making them out to be. For every "QUALITY" shot this episode there were at least 3 top-notch high detailed shots, and that's not even taking into account the godly sakuga from the streetbrawl scene or how nicely animated Hayato's explosion was.

It's like you guys have never watched an anime that isn't JoJo before, pretty much all anime have meh-looking mid/long distance shots until the BDs touch upon them. Why out of all fanbases is the JoJo one so unappreciative? For every bad frame there is in this episode there's 3 frames that looked amazing. Even if you guys got an animation done by a high-end studio you'd still find a reason to bitch or complain, at least you didn't get the mess that was the Berserk anime.

i think the main reason the anime quality looks off is the lighting, if you compare Part 4 lighting's to Stardust Crusaders or anime like IBO it look toned down.

I hope the VA and SO anime get 39-42 eps as well, it's literally perfect since it adapts all the manga without cutting out stuff and gives time to add more filler to give the characters more fun moments.
