I enjoyed today's episode. The Kira fight isn't necessarily as action-packed as, say, the DIO fight, but I think David have done well with it so far, quality aside. Josuke cutting the air bomb in half with his blood in particular was don really well.

They took so many liberties this episode with perspective and whatnot, ESPECIALLY with this shot, I don't understand why they couldn't have tried to imitate the page as closely as possible. The original page's perspective is obviously a little wonky, but it's used to good effect, it lost so much of its impact by taking Kira out of the frame.

Killer Queen's reveal was fucked up due to QUALITY/the redesign.
This one looked great in terms of budget, but it didn't have as much impact, mainly because they decided to take Kira out of the shot for no reason.

I think it just doesn't translate to animation as well. The entire fight takes place on a street corner, in a house for a bit, and then ends back out on the street.

Whereas the DIO fight is in the streets as well but they're moving all over the city, fighting on rooftops, fucking flying, which all lends itself to animation really well.

I'm not saying that there isn't a good way to animate the Kira fight, but with the budget David's working with the results just don't look amazing.

The angles that Araki draws stuff doesn't lend itself well to animation, and david has to decide whether to adapt the manga exactly and not have real animation, or have animation at the cost of an angle change and more QUALITY.

In 1-3, david mostly chose the first option and covered it up in wacky color changes and crazy music, but they're using the second option for 4, which is why the entire part almost DIO's World levels of QUALITY. They exchanged nice shots and faithfulness for real animation.

Fucking hell this episode was a REAL breath of fresh air, I'm so glad they focused more on the tension of the fight instead of turning it into a slugfest like with DIO's World.

Those 15 seconds of pure throwdown felt more impactful than every ORAORA beatdown in part 3, fucking hell I could watch this all day.
