I think the Narita novels get too much negativity because of rumors. I actually read a few parts of it and they were genuiely good. And the books aren't even all about Kenpachi. It is actually an ensemble with him, Uryuu, the nurse Arrancar, Mayuri, Szayel's clone, the other Kenpachi and Don Kanonji as the protagonist. And it had some really interesting and creative parts, like a car chase through a Garganta.

I am and was almost always an IchiRuki fag I was originally for Ichigo x Tatsuki but she got sidelined and even I knew there would never be a romance between them unless and until Ichigo died. He was a human, she was a ghost, there was no way they could ever have a relationship unless one thing or the other changed. And freeing her from the humanizing gigai body meant that Ichigo had to be killed or sacrifice his physical form before he could be with Rukia.

The fact that it didn't happen in the final arc and that the victory over Yhwach wasn't because of Ichigo's power but the power of friendship meant that there was no chance for IchiRuki in the epilogue.

And you know what? I'm gonna lay some heavy facts on ya. I stopped caring about a potential "relationship" between any characters in bleach about when the fullbring arc happened. I felt Kubo was being pushed to keep writing and it went on way too long. And I loved the start of the series. It's true, I had always like Rukia more both personally and as a character (especially her interactions) than any other "pairings" but I also do not care that Orihime "won the Ichibowl" either. Really.

What I am, however, is butthurt the manga ended with a bad final arc, an enormously rushed last few chapters, a bizarre one-chapter fade to black and dozens, literally dozens and dozens of dropped plot points. And while I think SJ staff had a hand in pushing Kubo, it's ultimately his fault for how the series slogged on and ended. I come into these threads hoping to find more information, canon information, that may fill in the blanks that Kubo has stopped paying attention to. For example, Hell. A hollow uses soundwaves to explode bombs, turns out he was originally a criminal in the first place, so the gates open up and stabs him through the motherfucking body and drag him back. Like ANY spirit (plus), if it's left unattended too long it will turn into a hollow. A shinigami's job is to "cleanse it" by chopping its mask in half and then stamp his head with a pass to heaven. Or, just as likely, they were bad and the gates take 'em to Hell, right then, in front of the shinigami.Hell never comes back. The motif, the giant demon thing, not even the remaining spirit thing is continued. Ichigo and all shinigami literally slice hollows' masks with their zanpakutou and they just fade away instantly. No stamping, no spritis yadda yadda.

Stuff like that, and major plotholes, and huge hyped up enemies which lead to nothing appear like that all the way to the end and I hope it gets some answers. I'm a long time fan.

Ichigo isn't really human, either.

Power shenanigans aside "he's a Quincy - they're human/not human!" "he's a hollow!" "he's a shinigami!" "he's a hybrid!" Ichigo has a "plus" soul that's attached to a lot of different things. Even when heritability comes into play, his mother was human (quincy) but his father was a several hundred year-old-ghost. He was inside a really problematic advanced gigai made to pass as human, that much is undeniable, so does that make Ichigo a pure human or a half-breed or something? Should it even have been possible? I guess not since Urahara has that as the official reason given to SS public at large for why he was banned to ever return. It at least wasn't allowed. Or maybe it was because of this that Isshin wasn't allowed/didn't want to come back? Whatever, you get the idea it's a jumbled mess but you kind of have to take Ichigo as "human" for granted.

True! But something changed from chapter 1. He could interact with her before she was a gigai, and then she went into the gigai, later as she was captured, she wasn't in a gigai at all.

But this is something I've posted before another dropped plot point: Ichigo is already fucking dead. Kisuke pushed him out of his living body, under Ichigo's OWN spiritual powers (not Rukia's gifted ones), and then immediately chopped his chain attaching his soul to the living body right the fuck in half. Ichigo, having encountered this before says "the fuck dude, you just killed me" and Urahara confirms it "you bet I did, in fact, now you'll become a hollow. IN FACT, I'm dropping you in this enormous pit in order to make you a hollow in LESS THAN A DAY."

I'm so glad I stopped reading this shit after Aizen. It looks like it turned into a complete shitshow.

If Ichigo had gained hollow powers after he had regained his shinigami powers, the answer would be no. But, his shinigami powers from the very beginning was basically his hollow.

The biggest twist in Bleach is the fact that Ichigo technically is not a shinigami to begin with. He's an arrancar. The basis of his power is hollow that has crossed over into the realm of shinigami due to the traits he inherited from his father; while also having the Quincy traits he inherited from his mother.

It's for that very reason why when Zangetsu comes out to protect Ichigo from Ulquiorra, said Arrancar gets curbstomped like it's nothing. Ulquiorra may have been a hollow longer than Zangetsu--but the difference is that Zangetsu did not need to go through the succession of feeding in order to achieve Vasto Lorde levels of power.

He had on tap Ichigo's own shinigami powers to consume endlessly. It's why Zangetsu's words of wisdom to Ichigo are to look ahead, cast away your fears and fight--and if he ever needs power, he'll provide all that he'll ever need to crush the world beneath its feet.

It's also for that very reason that Ywach cheats to break Ichigo's bankai. Ywach with his power, and even with Yamamoto's stolen bankai did not have the ability to match the infinite potential that Zangetsu had--because it was hollow and because it had been feeding and growing infinitely stronger for basically ever.

Well, it doesn't particularly matter what Zangetsu is a manifestation of the inherent spiritual nature of human + shinigami + quincy + hollow. However, it's been confirmed in the manga that though White itself died with Masaki when she passed away, it's hollow powers were transferred by birth to Ichigo. Then when Ichigo having learned the truth, returns to the Pheonix's palace and he selects the asauchi, which is then showed to be a hollow mask basically confirms that the basis of his shinigami powers are hollow. Everything for Ichigo, started with the hollow in him.

The point I'm making or rather wanted to make with my original post is that Kazui will in fact have a hollow for three main reasons:

1. Through Masaki & birth of Ichigo we have a confirmation that hollow powers can be transferred to descendants via birth

2. Fullbringers powers are a result of pregnant mothers who have been grazed by hollow reiatsu, & the soul of the child absorbs some of its fringes--which over time result in fullbrings.

and

3. When Ichigo recovered his shinigami powers, he died, & through pulling out Zangetsu, he managed to retain his original soul form with some minor modifications. This reversed the flow if you will, however when he died as a shinigami on the dome of Los Noches--he turned into a hollow completely & Zangetsu came out to play. Zangetsu isn't exclusively hollow, but the majority of what makes Zangetsu Zangetsu, is nonetheless hollow.

After Ulquiorra is defeated, the hole in Ichigo's chest regenerates and it returns him to his original "soul" form, but is in fact only regenerating the damage taken to the chest. At this point, moving forward, Ichigo is for all intents and purposes hollow. This is then later reconfirmed with Ichigo's fight with Ywach prior to revealing his new bankai and Kubo's greatest Kubo moment in all of Bleach. He proceeds to wake up Zangetsu major and has a hollow horn from his head.

& w/ succession of power, Kazui gets a hollow.

If it had been about Yoruichi and Urahara solving some sort of problem, for their knowledge of the nobility and the inner workings of the Soul Society respectively, I'd find an excuse to go to Japan and buy a copy myself if that's what it took. The opportunities for banter would practically sell the book by itself. But if they're not going with that route, or with a databook, the actual story needs to have a hook to it and Hisagi/Kaname subplots just aren't doing it for me.

Doesn't change the succession of powers like you put it.

On that note, Kazui would be a fullbringer because he is at least the first born and Orihime was attacked and injured by a hollow (her brother at least) or hollows (every single fucking arrancar in Hueco Mundo stretched her out before Ichigo. Grimmjow and Ulquiorra included.

He has nothing to do with and now previously demonstrated knowledge of any of those topics, while other characters do. Or it's to have a character who isn't connected whatsoever to these bigger picture things, so he can be in a similar situation to the reader as a fish out of water dealing with this new revelations. Not everything needs to be interpreted pessimistically.

He's probably just a human with an enormous spiritual energy reservoir. At best, he's a fullbringer. He even admits it himself that he's only "kinda" a shinigami, too. There is zero indication he was born with or inherited a blank hollow, asauchi, that lives inside his soul.

I'd say, if you want to quibble about why he has robes and a sword that those are either his fullbring (similar in style to Ichigo) or was actually given a Zanpakuto (an asauchi already made by Phoenix Citie's swordsmith) as a toy or something and, being the son of the most powerful soul in the universe except for maybe Aizen, he's communing pretty well with it already. That last idea sucks, though, because there's no fucking way Ichigo would EVER let his son follow in his footsteps, let alone given him a sword to play with. He wouldn't even let his friends help him anymore when they proved their worth.

Not really. I thought that in the very beginning of the series and all the way through SS arc, but as soon as the Hueco Mundo stuff started with Orihime's confession I had a felling that she was going to be the winner of the Ichibowl.

Also it was the other way around. Orihime would get shitted on every time she was brought up. This was amplified even more during the weeks before the final chapter. But as soon as she won, Ichiruki fags started crying about Ichihime spamming. It was pretty funny.

I still don't get why Rukia, or anyone else for that matter, would fall in love with a cunt like Renji.
