I'm not the anon you're responding to, but there's literally nothing wrong with dropping a series at any point. One Piece is a serial. It's not about a specific story arc. Luffy wants to become Pirate King...and so he will. The End. The whole point is the adventure in between. One Piece doesn't even need an ending. No serial manga or TV show does, actually, that's why their endings are usually shit.

I stopped reading Trigun, Hellsing, Gantz, Soul Eater, Reborn and tons of series right before the final arc. Not to mention all the series I didn't make that far. I ain't missing shit. The fact that she just used an attack that references the moon after that unexplained full moon comment back on Zou makes it even more obvious. Pedro even said, even among the Minks, she was special. Her mentor was a apprentice for Roger and he's probably going to die when Kaidou rapes Zunisha to avenge Jack. She's also already started building the painfully obvious gag that the apprentice would have: the Weakling Trio would act like her seniors even though she's stronger, just like we see with Chopper telling her to call him big bro. She also wants to go out on an adventure to see the world, whereas Pedro's only motive is to fuck up Big Mom and protect Zou. Most of Pedro's signature features are also the same as Sanji's. Carrot is such a better fit, it's silly to even consider Pedro, as much as I like him. It's true that she doesn't have like a distinguishing scar or special weapon/ability, but Oda tends to pass on giving those to girls, anyways. All she needs to do is hear Zou fell.

Okay, About the other stuff now. I continue to fall in love with Carrot and I will riot if she does not join the crew. Pedro is a badass, but I can see him getting his lifespan back by the end of this arc. I can see Brook getting captures by Big Mom and then locked in the book with all the other "rare creatures". And then later on gets freed along with the rest of creatures which can create enough chaos for them to escape.
