Really the biggest problem with this series is all the waifu pandering. Characters like Saika, Saki, Iroha even Sensei should not have been part of Hachiman's love interests. That's really where the series fell apart in my opinion. This is a series that never should have been harem.

The only way Watari can redeem himself in my eyes is if he destroys the relationships Hachiman has with these side characters and renders all of this side material shit meaningless.

There are only two love interest, Yui and Yukino. 5+ girls don't like him and it really isn't a harem. Yukino liking him is sorta new and barely been explored outside of a few scenes. Also the MC isn't a dense piece of shit who will keep the status quo. To call this a harem or even a mainly romance story is ridiculous. Don't focus in too much on the romance. A VN is just a VN. Waifufags will always exist so my problem isn't even with them, it is the threads culture that is the problem.

I think these threads have manipulated people too much about what the story is about and what has happened. A lot seems lost on people. I haven't read a word of the main series or watched a second of it since August of last year. A good chunk of the fanbase is the same.
