I want to get a Kindle for Christmas, but I'm too Jewish to pay $7 for a mango. How do y'all do it/is there a better e-reader that I should be getting instead?
A computer.

I have no clue how you guys can read manga on a computer it's just crazy. Books too, it's the most inconvenient thing ever.

CDisplay is godly.
Honestly just get a tablet. Manga is hard to read on a tiny Kindle screen, and converting zips to Kindle friendly formats can be a pain in the ass.

You mean, as outdated as Egyptian gods?

I use a Nexus 7 2013.
Install Perfect Viewer and then download zips/cbz off Madokami or directly from the translator's websites. Optional but highly recommended: buy an anti glare screen. It feels and looks so much better with it.
I still think having an e ink reader is better but a passable one for reading manga (especially pirated manga) costs too much.

I forgot to mention. Install Twilight (app) to reduce eye strain. It works like flux. Play around with the settings until it (almost) looks like am e ink display.
I use my iPad.
Fortunately for me, I won 2 free iPads from this raffle :^)

Manga consuming efficiency.
Kobos have much better support for mangos. Also larger is better for mangos.
Don't even bother with amazon if you're going to be reading manga, seriously.

Fuck that, cheap Android tablet is a million times better. Read in bed, curled up in a large chair, anywhere.

Reading scanlations should be a capital offense. Have some fucking shame.

Amazon is the only online ebook reseller so far that has a resize policy for their image resolution, and I think it's 800x1200. Such a fucking dick move.

A kindle or a cheap tablet is best way to read manga if you can't afford all the books. I'm going to get shit for even suggesting this but a reader app like mango or manga rock is awesome. It connects to all l the popular scan sites and allows you to either stream or download for later reading. I haven't read a manga on the computer in years and I doubt I ever will again.
