Filuru at least died feeling useful, but it hurt to see her go. Mimi and Cherry both put in major work in the escape. Mimi's death probably fucked me up the most, her relationship with Marika was cool and it was nice to see Marika finally think something other than fight fight fight, her personality was actually fairly nuanced. Prism Cherry went out the hero she was born to be, but it still hurt to see her dismiss herself as some sort of side character until the very end

It seems ridiculously anti-climactic that they died offscreen in an accident, which leads me to belive they are still alive, especially since she is so high up and important to the story, I am curious what happened though

Marika might have lost her will to fight, or may be forcing it in the end, still it was crazy to see her full power was enough to take solo Ace of Spades and King of Clubs, especially since it took a group effort earlier. I'm pretty sure SW was saved by Pythie, otherwise Joker and Grim Heart might have killed her. Deluge is mind broken as hell, and I don't blame her, especially since she doesn't get the sanity boost normal MG do.

I always anticipated that SG would do what's necessary if things came down to it.

Restart showed us this. She is loyal to Pfle, but she's not passive. I feel like SG wants Pfle to be a good person, but she won't turn a blind eye to her actions.

If you think about it, this mentality has already been established when SG thought Pfle was the traitor in Restart, but was also sad as fuck that Pfle may have died.

I feel like she cares about Pfle, but she will smack her upside the head if Pfle crosses a line, though not to the point that Pfle will die. Notice that she's more willing to give up her own life than to assassinate Pfle.

Also, the deaths aren't as varied than they are in the later arcs, so it has that going against it too.

Pfle's plans seem to affect the entirety of the LoM, simply by having Man-Made MGs be involved.

Pythie's plan focuses on one person, and whoever comes into contact with that person.

Hence, because of scope, Pythie has caused fewer casualties than Pfle.

I think if both had the same plan and were given a chance to do it separately, they'd do a similar amount of deaths and damage.

But that's exactly why I say Pfle is worse on an ethical level. Pythie may have fewer morals and be more coldhearted when it comes to directly causing suffering but the reality is that the scope of her actions is smaller.

Pfle may have better intentions. She may have better morals. But the scope and effect of her actions is horrendous. Ethics aren't about inentions. Ethics are about the effect that one's actions have upon society as a whole.

And in Pfle's case, the effect has been mass murder on a large scale. Pythie may be evil-hearted enough to be willing to send someone like Wedin to her death. But in the end, she's still caused less harm than Pfle.

I hope I'm not in the minority but I actually liked the fact that the climax involved escaping.

I mean I love a Final Boss fight, but there was no way, with the kit, abilities, powers, that the MGs had, that they could conceivably fight Joker + Grim Heart. It'd take a lot of asspull to even kill Grim Heart.

If I was forced to write it, I'd be writing myself into a corner.

It both fits SW's personality that she doesn't want to kill, and it fits nicely with her philosophy of "beating people without touching them, even Godlike people like Keek who seem invincible".

And generally speaking, as someone that has only seen the anime, I have no idea who any of these characters are or what the hell anyone in this thread is talking about.

Its getting kind of annoying how people here are totally disregarding the plot and characters of the first arc. I don't give a shit about spoilers or anything, and perhaps it's due to the narrative structure- and the way the author kills girls off constantly so they just get left in the dust, but this is an airing series so I think you should maybe keep most of the discussion pertinent to the first arc. At least until the finale.

This thread might be slightly more egregious than most too because a chapter of the LN got translated or something.
