I think it's been pretty fun so far. I didn't watch the XY series so it's basically a nice little refresher for me after such a long time of not watching Pokemon.

It's nice, Rotomdex is actually great and the girls are cute. I hope the plot will start moving and they leave the school and start exploring soon

I haven't watched Pokemon in forever but I really like it. Smoking hot girls and solid animation, pretty funny too. Best part is the goofy shit the Pokemons do, like episode 5 I think opens with Pikachu and the dog guy walking around on their front legs. Little shit like that cracks me up.

These speed subbers that pop up every time a new Pokémon series starts always mistranslate things, even simple basic concepts, and sometimes use localized names or phrases or just make things up whole cloth. Kukui also has stupidly basic timing inconsistencies. It's pretty okay so far. My main complaints are that it's going to mostly be monster of the week stuff again (although that would always be the case), and that Ash and Team Rocket are still around.

The Sun and Moon games changed the whole story around, and people loved it. Meanwhile, you could take an episode of Sun and Moon, put it in Black and White, and nobody could tell the difference.

Most 3DS games use the touchscreen to enhance the game rather than as main gameplay like the DS Zeldas. Sun/Moon uses it as a menu and map display and not much else, and I think you can still do almost everything with buttons. But stuff like box organization is a lot easier with touch.

Anyway, it's probably the best handheld console there is as far as value considering it can also play all DS games. If nothing else you should get it to play A Link Between Worlds which is easily in top 3 Zeldas ever.

How the League tournaments work is that the winner gets to challenge the e4 in an official battle.

Ash has met a bunch of E4 and champions and battled them in unofficial terms, but never won.
Alan is the only one to have defeated an E4 member, Malva, in a battle in the anime.

There is a normal Champion for every region, which is determined by who wins the local Pokémon League Conference. How frequently this conference is held and how long such a Champion holds their title is unexplained.

There is also a Champion League for each region, which consists of an Elite Four and the regional League Champion, the top dog. Elite Four members may challenge the League Champion freely at any time to attempt to take their title, demoting said Champion to an Elite Four. The League Champion is not obligated to accept challenges from anyone else besides the Elite Four.

However, becoming Champion of a League Conference entitles you to challenge the Champion League, meaning you must defeat all of the Elite Four, followed by a shot at fighting the Champion. If this happens the challenger will become the League Champion. Presumably this bumps an Elite Four out of the Champion League, but this is unexplained. Also unexplained is what happens if a challenger makes it partially through the Elite Four and then loses.

This is all explained if you watch the anime instead of farting around on /a/.
