It is. It looks bland, the new characters are flat waifubait that have less characterisation than your average LN side-waifu, Satoshi looks like a Mexican half the time, and despite him being on vacation, they can't even do the one thing BW did and have his old mons come back to relax.

The only positives are Bewear and Mimikyu.

If people didn't already love Video Game Lillie/Mallow/Lana from the games, nobody would give a shit about SM. It has few redeeming features. Every episode is that annoying as shit RotomPokedex and that garbage Alolan form Oak making shitty puns while they show off the waifus to distract people from the glaring flaws the rest of the show has.

Admittedly, there aren't many episodes so far, but it has the weakest start to any series (Aside from maybe BW) and if it continues along like this, it'll definitely join the ranks of Johto and BW in the garbage.
