Ya, but meteor is harder for them to block without shields, and she can use it to target both opponents at once. This way the one on the walkway can't cover doc oc while she swings at him. The only real downside is that meteors aoe makes it harder for the attackers to position for follow up attacks.

He was surprised that a trigger other than a Black Trigger was able to break that the shielding. So It's much tougher than Rabit's Armor and took two slices, one from Konami's connector equipped Sogetsu to cleave it in half. It's definitely top tier. His stats are top tier too.

Also, the manga desperately needs more Arashiyama Squad. It seemed like in the early section of the manga (before they revamped the entire manga due to lackluster reception) the Arashiyama unit was supposed to be a lot more important.
And they're great. Jun, Kitora, DOUBLES SNIPE, and top kuu are a lot of fun and I want to have them take even more of a role.
...for what it's worth I really want Tamakoma-1 to become even more prominent. But that's unrelated.

I forgot where exactly it was, so you'll have to take it with a grain of salt, but trust me in that I'm not making this up - Ashihara had some little blurb in one of the volumes about how the series wasn't nearly as well received as the editorial department wanted it to be to continue serialization, so Bapti and Ashihara basically reworked their entire plan for the series.
I don't have specifics, but I can only imagine based on the early parts of World Trigger (and this part is completely my interpretation) that the Arashiyama squad was supposed to be a lot more prominent with Kitora specifically filling the "heroine" role instead of important side character, more focus on School-life and the related characters considering all of the classmates introduced early on, etcetera.
If someone can find what I'm remembering by the way I would totally appreciate it.

150 chapters being turned into 73 episodes is somewhat bad pacing.
I still don't know what made Hiromu Arakawa to be so based as to just ask for Anime to completely diverge once it runs out of material.
Bones doing good work sure helped, but the "oh, we run out of material if we keep up the pacing" is far worse.

Reiji seems to be the only agent who uses Raygust as a primarily offensive Trigger. And even he only does it by morphing the blade down to a compact size and relying on his own physical strength+Thruster.

Because Toei is by far the best studio to get your shonen anime out there.
They have good marketing campaigns for the series and merch, they make good events and they could land you the best spots for your series to get more and more viewers.

Simple answer: Trion is either in a destroy or hold state. Unlike physical objects, where the only thing of worth is impact volume and speed.
So a Shield Raygust can't really bludgeon, and a Blade Raygust can't parry properly outside of Trion Friction
Beyond that, its a pretty good trigger because the 2 other melee triggers is very flawed.
Basically Raygust users could not equip a shield on their main set, and be not disadvantaged in any form
Scorpion is good because it doesn't become less solid when shifting shape.
Kogetsu is good because the shape is solid.

Remember me what studio can pull this kind of shit for their anime? very few, if any. Wrestling is huge in Japan and getting the best guy to voice even a minor character in your series puts it out there for some people that might not have heard of the series before
World Trigger in the first place doesn't have the mainstream appeal that series like Naruto or the new Hero Academia do, the fights are not about POWERLEVELS but about strategy, main character is weak and so on.
Despite that the series has been a best seller for 2 years straight now.

World Trigger is good, of course. But you can't deny that without Toei a lot of people wouldn't have heard of it and that's my point. It's about the power Toei has to make sure the target audience gets to know about it.
World Trigger was selling around 110k before it fell off the charts. After the anime it immediately got to 190 or so and then it kept growing. Nowadays it falls after 300k and again it's been one of the best selling manga for 2 years. What some people in western forums/boards don't seem to understand is that what these companies want is the series to get more popular, more readers, more viewers, more buyfags. Sure the anime isn't pretty but who cares, Japanese like it and that's what keeps the series going

One of the things that makes World Trigger "good" is the minimalistic sci fi designs, with a big focus on re using well designed elements.
Toei might not had touched it, if the designs was worse, on every level.

Look at it this way: From a design standpoint, the worst part of World Trigger is the start.
But you still get a clothed/trigger form on each main character, which both are fashionable.
Then the mass produced weapons come in, in sexy functional designs.
The monsters are sexy for being mass produced, especially The Rabbits.
Then the Snowflake triggers comes around, which is sexy from contrast.
And then the super fashionable squad uniforms.
There is also a few things that stands out, such as The Trion Cubes, which gets very sexy when colored on a posed character.
