The thing I hate most about dragon ball is the power creep. It became horrible in z, where the only way you could be relevant at the least past the saiyan saga was to be an alien, and the only way to be relevant past that was to be a saiyan. So many characters just wind up being useless that they really have no point being there. I wish Toriyama did something to keep at least most of the cast to do something besides give comedic relief and die. take one piece, I'm not saying its good, and i'm not saying its any better. but I appreciate how all of the main cast get some of the glory. even if they don't get the big bad of the arc, they still get time to shine.

yes these two pics are whats considered to be part of the "Gray-Scale" semi colored pages.
Each of the volumes had semi colored pages in it, which were published in the Weekly Shonen Jump a lot in the 80's and 90's.
It is a relatively cheap alternative than a fully colored page.
Fun Fact: The purple ink at the time had fluctuating price and it was sometimes very expensive.
