I think Gurren Lagann could actually use a sequel, since they kind of messed up the message in the last lap with their bad handling of Nia's death (what they say in interviews - she was dead the moment the Anti-Spiral died since she was just a projection isn't hinted at by the show at all, which just shows her slowly dying through an entire month and no one doing anything to save her).
