It's pretty much as if a 13 year old edgemaster was told to handle the adaptation. Some scenes are kinda cool, admittedly, but the vast majority of the characters are so OoC that it completely destroys their appeal. I have no clue why they made Swim Swim a crazy yangire, she has no traits of that character type at all. Hell her entire character is based on how she is smart, cold and caluculating but ultimately a misguided child. She isn't a raging blood-thirsty psycho. There is 0 subtlety to any of the characters in a series that revolves around having nuanced characters.

God knows how they will make Phythie out to be, probably a rapist who just wants to fuck SW. Are Nokko, Rain Pou, and Funny Trick going to be raging sociopaths too?

So I just watched the episode.

While the Ako x Snow White parts were really good, like really good, as in you could clearly see the suffering in Snow's voice there.
The Cramberry fight was rushed like there was no tomorrow.

Man, poor Ako, she really deserved a better fate. But also amazing job by her VA on this episode and on that final scene in particular. I'm glad the suffering delivered.

Minael on the other hand got shafted into oblivion though, and all the entire scene during that time felt clunky and out of pace. It almost seemed like they ran out of budget half way through the episode and just ended up doing a Cranberry cardboard sneaking out from behind a tree.

I hope they are saving budget for the last two fights at least, but I guess this is Lerche for you, half of the episode really good, half of the episode really bad.

I agree, but again, I felt Ako's death was good enough to make the rest passable.
Though I liked the fact that they at least included the White x Black idea Ako had when designing her Hardgore Alice avatar from the Episodes chapter.
Some things in the Anime could have been done better, there's no discussion there, but I think they still did a decent job at the end.

Well I guess the manga was better at showing how shocking the highway attack was. The LN said a guy's upper body completely blew up, but in the anime he just got shot through the chest and fell over.
