I'm so glad I stuck with this show. Awesome episode.

Yesterday I had the most pleasant dream about Reoko. She was kept in some kind of tower guareded by Team Lardo, who let me in after I asked them to let me in.
Then I princess carried Reoko out while she was tightly holding around my neck.
Then I kicked Guy in the head and the last thing was Reoko lying on my chest with most heart-warming smile I ever saw while I gently stroked her hair.
It was probably the best dream this year and I woke up with a slight depression.

And really, from the four I actually bookmarked during the first season, one of which being the one that even released the doujin I have yet o finish fucking scanning, she's the only one that still posts regularly, and not only that but a good number of pieces each week. The one with the doujin has been silent for a month or so, probably more, one other barely does anything anymore and is now into mobile pokemans, and finally, my biggest personal disappointment is the one that did these pieces which was just as active during the first season with mostly Reoko posts, but got into what appears to be a rock band real bad around the start of S2 and barely posts bbk anymore. All she releases are pieces with the members of said band.

They aren't really cool. It's mostly just that the balance of power has shifted.
It looks like before, they basically all reasoned that they had to do as he say. Partly due to how forceful he is but also partly due to how they need and are meant to make up the Buranki. It being their purpose. So they felt they had to be subjected to his shit, the heart, of which is crucial for the Buranki to be a thing.

But then they basically said fuck it. They don't need the Buranki. He even said it straight to their faces when they first defected like it was the most natural thing in the world, they need the Buranki. But they had had enough. And quite clearly declared that they did not care and that they simply would not work with/under him. Which shocked him.

Basically. Before they felt like he was required. And that they had no choice. But now they have reached the point where they don't care. Which amusingly puts them on top.
He no longer has any leverage over them since they simply no longer care. And by that they have made him completely dependent on them which is a complete turn around from before. They want to help, so if he follows their lead they'll happily accept his Buranki. But if not? They'll just walk. They no longer feel like they need the Buranki.

And he can't control the Buranki by himself. And a king without subjects is no king. As much of an asshole as he may be, the shock of the whole ordeal appears to have made him realize that he may actually have flaws of his own to work with. He just lost all of his subjects, which he deems unacceptable, and he wonders why. So he was willing to consider his situation and attempt to adapt. And now he is somewhat unwillingly at their mercy but he is too prideful to do anything but act as their leader even so.

To be honest, I didn't think it'd be my type of show. But I make it a principle of mine to check out at the very least the beginning of every new anime of every season. And it just so happens to be that I find the characters to be extraordinarily charming, and it helps that the music and voice acting is great too. With the occasional sequences of neat animation.
I have to admit that I have grown quite fond of it. It's pretty childish, all while juggling some pretty serious themes which I guess makes it pretty chuuni. But I quite like the childish aspect of it, and while the show goes back and forth between despair and cheerful moments, whenever it does go cheerful it makes me warm and happy inside.
