Sometimes when writing characters, they develop a mind of their own so deep that you can't see them acting any other way. In a extremely simple example, let's say Character A does not like cheese. So when they order a burger, you HAVE to write in that they don't want cheese on it or show some aversion to it if they do get it.

Now take that, along with several, several other habits and mannerism. You start to see everything they will and will not do and even while you're trying to write the plot and set up certain things to happen, you remember "no, character A would'nt want to do that but....I need X to happen. Fuck, how do I get him to do it so it makes sense?" Then you have to re-write it in a way that matches their personality. Before you know it, they really do have a life of their own and control the story.

I can definitely see this happening considering their personalities. Episode 9 really cemented it for me that Victor assumes Yuuri feels the same way he does regarding their relationship while in truth they haven't really talked things out.

Because after a few years you get incredibly annoyed at people who force their "canon" down your throat and won't take no for an answer. In this case I agree that Victor and Yuuri have a romantic relationship, but after experiencing it in a dozen other series you get annoyed as fuck.
