Why is Rewrite getting a second season? the first season was bad.

The second season should be fine. Moon is very short and entirely linear. The Meikyuu/Rakuen adaptations were infinitely more competent than the complete fuck-up that was Kajitsu, so Rewrite will probably be the same.

Most anime isn't "good" to begin with but it all has some form of entertainment value.

Considering it was announced right when the first season finished airing I'd say they got approval/funding to make while the first season aired. I felt like the first season was miserable to sit through while it aired but looking back on it it wasn't that bad, even with the tonal inconsistency with the VN.

I'm just hoping they'll stick closer to the VN's tone now that it'll (presumably) be a direct adaptation rather than an "extra" route.

Because we haven't seen Bond yet.
