And i guess because it isn't just a tool that trade a player health for higher performance, but more like a really good training menu, so good it may be considered unfair. The players using it still need to go through a lot o effort to be able to get results.

Ultimately isn't that she is wrong, but more like that it isn't a bad thing to bring back balance to the forc-, to the keijo world, instead of maintaining the status quo that is leading to the end of west.

Nozomi’s challenge to the Goketsu only appears on the keijo magazine as a short side note. Sumire points it’s obvious that a challenge form a B class wouldn’t be taken serious and tells Nozomi to rank up. To do so Nozomi need to be on the top 40 by the end of the period. The cutline tends to be around 200 points every year, so she needs to win at least 5 more tournaments (She just recently won her first one). Nozomi works hard but two months later she still in need of 60 points and with not much time left. Sayaka consoles her but it makes Nozomi feels worse when she learns Sayaka (plus Ai and Sumire) already have enough points to get to A class. As Nozomi was desperate she gets advice from some of her seniors (likely ill-intended) and participates on a race on Funabashi. The others get worried when they learn she went alone to an east race, specially from Funabashi.

Nozomi felt at ease at first when everyone seemed nice, but then on the preliminary race they act completely different and all gang up on her. Funabashi is a small Keijo place so players from other places like to participate on tournaments there as an easy way to get points. Because of that they tend to be hostile to outsiders, and even more to Nozomi as she is from the west and a rookie who is aiming to the top. The players on Funabashi all look up to Kosugi Rio, the most veteran player from there. Rio was someone who dreamt to beat the goketsu and bring excitement to their small venue, but her dreams where crushed on a match against Ginya where she got the scar on her face and was injured needing half a year to recover. Rio and the others players from Funabashi gave up on going forward, living by the philosophy that to survive long in keijo one needs to know their place instead of aiming too high just to fall back to earth.

Nozomi is able to win the preliminaries and semifinals although get a lot beaten up in the process and very stressed as she was staying in a place with enemies on every corner (to the point where she doesn`t even notice when a friendly voice tries to call her). On the finals she is struggling against Rio and 3 other players when Kazane comes to help. Kazane tells Nozomi she read her challenge to the goketsu on the magazine. To think that her roommate already is turning her butt to Japan’s top and felt that she also can’t lose, can’t take things easy. Kazane is sure that she wasn`t the only one who chest throb fast when reading it, who ass resonated with the dream of their friend (as she says that we see the elite class members’ reactions when they read it). Nozomi also notes how Kazane got stronger, far from the shy player from long ago.
The final is then a clash of ideals. Kazane and Nozomi are able to fight back even though it`s a 4x2 and together sink two evening the odds. Kazane`s then deploy her new technique that she got an Egypt Exhibition, the most ancient and powerful of the butt treasures, Neith Ass Bolg. It always strikes the enemy crotch, no matter what they try to do to avoid it (instead of an explanation it’s shrugged off as a mystery from Ancient Egypt that science can’t explain yet). She almost beat Rio but the remaining player on Rio side cover her with her own crotch. Rio just can’t lose here so she goes all out and beat Kazane by letting her hit and then taking her down. Nozomi and Rio trade blows but Nozomi wins (as Kazane points out, someone who gave up don’t have the resistance for long races like Nozomi who is always trying her best until the very end). Rio tells the others she is sorry that she lost, but both then and the audience were really happy and excited with the great match they just watched.

As another comparison, 3 weeks after they started A class, Nozomi best result was a 3rd place in prelims, Sayaka was a a 4th place in prelims, while Sumire had already won two tournaments.
