You can infer it all from with no trouble. The only confusing part is guys like Jack and Memetobe reappering out of nowhere near the end, but that's easily fixed having a couple of new scenes to establish them early on.

It's more-or-less the most popular part of the entire franchise. The show is part of the 25th anniversary of Baki, so it stands to reason that they'd animate the most popular arc.
