Re:Zero wasn't better than Erased when it aired. It's the second best AOTY though.

re:zero is mediocre at best, full of clichés,... it only was "good" because of this shit year makes it look good. If it was around the time where Suzumiya Haruhi No Yuutsu and such good animes were airing it wouldn't be considered special.
