Why haven't you read Best Manga?
It wasn't that great.
>>150388108
It's better than Sengoku Youko in my opinion.
Not enough hentai
>>150388816
the characters were only mildly fuckable, though
>>150388108
I read it with /a/ fampai
8/10
Would watch adaptation
>>150388741
But Spirit Circle is definitely the best of their works.
>>150389288
Spirit Circle is a series comprised of 80% filler 10% exposition and 10% trying to staple that filler into something that matters at the end.
It was lame.
Snake will always be best girl.
>>150388108
Idk
>>150388108
His other works are better.
But yea I read all of it and I feel bad for anyone who hasn't.
Someone quoted the creators on them planning on making an anime adaptation feauting the pillows making the soundtrack and I remembered how much I fucking hate the pillows so I have avoided reading it by proxy
plus the biggest sjw acquaintance I know loves it so
>>150388108
overhyped
But OP, I've read Voynich Hotel twice.
I started to and it was shit
>>150388108
>"I want to destroy the world"
>"I pledge my allegiance to you, my highness"
I'm not an edgy 13-year old, so it sounded like tripe to me. Maybe one day I'll become an edgy little kid and think it's cool.
>>150389373
Every time I think shittier taste cant be found, anon proves me wrongy
>>150389816
>I fucking hate the pillows
How can you live with such shit taste
>>150390632
fuck off crossboarder
>>150390578
Filler.
Garbage.
>look how hard I'm trying to make this past life sad that will be over in a chapter
>so sad
>so consequential
Awful.
>>150390562
Ultimately it's about how she's a cunt and wrong but I understand if you don't want to deal with her in the meantime.
>>150388108
The way he draws female eyes is too sexy.
>>150389816
>plus the biggest sjw acquaintance I know loves it so
those guys breath air
would you please stop doing that too?
>>150390632
ask me when the pillows write the same album again for next year
>>150390718
yes
>>150390657
Now matter how much you call it filler in short-fingers-man style, it won't stop being the actual story. Which is amazing.
>Mfw just ordered the entire series the other night on Amazon
Seven Seas did a good release right? I'm enjoying their release of Franken Fran at the moment. They seem alright as a publisher.
>>150390962
>Which is amazing.
until the very end where we get an unneccessary timeskip which ends up completely fucking over the characters by trait
>>150388108
But I read Naruto. I have no idea what this shit is, but it's clearly not best manga.
>>150388494
Was she best? Aside fromSnek.
>>150388108
Nigga there's no one here who hasn't read that
>>150390718
He would. That's how smart the /pol/s are.
>>150388108
>can't read that Akane going mano-a-mano with the tenth chapter without https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YeLqjJWG1tY playing in my head
>>150388108
i have. I liked it, have almost all volumes, but I wouldn't call it best manga. It's a good manga.
>>150391183
I miss HARMONY
>>150390657
I was pretty sure it was going to end with the MC actually learning to feel for once, and forcing the girl to see she's just being an edgy kid, because his inner monologues made him sound redeemable.
But the series didn't actually feel like it had any redeeming qualities. The very first page is hilarious. After that, it just kinda' flatlines for what felt like a lifetime. I remember some dude died, but I didn't care, so...it didn't seem like anyone else did, either. I got the impression the author actually wanted to make a stealth harem like that other edgy manga /a/ loved a couple years ago, forget the name, but the kid's childhood friend was a serial killer.
I love you, /a/
AIRSPACE CONTROL
>>150393746
Babylon is fucking rad
But Mikazuki's Domain was pretty cool too
It's boring
Spirit Circle is brtter since it cuts out the boring fights
>>150390562
Oh yeah that shit is also awful
The hardest part of trying to read it was stomaching the godawful two main characters
samidare is really comfy, spirit circle is better though. even though there were some weak parts towards the end.
>>150396747
I likes Samidare more for the comfort factor. The ensemble were all interesting and unique individuals who felt like they actually contributed something.
Spirit Circle might be the better story, but Samidare just has this feel to it that makes me love it.
>>150390870
This guy gets it. Pillows are stale as fuck these days.
Everything after My foot is pretty bad.
>>150388108
>Samidare
wat
Why even do that?
I've yet to read a Mizukami story I didn't enjoy. Has he said anything about a new series or if he's hanging it up to spend time with his family?
I really don't get why you guys like biscuit hammer so much holy moly
>>150388108
But i just finished reading crimsons
>>150398144
It's lots of character development interspersed with and framed by action and conflict.
I love you
>>150398217
But the action is so boring, jesus, they are fighting emotionless mud golems for 50 chapters
>>150398144
Because it's not popular.
>>150398347
It's probably one of the most popular manga among western audiences that doesn't have an anime. But I'm pulling that out of my ass of course.
Sami is the cutest Mizukami girl.
>>150398288
Bantz from Animus make up for the golems lack of personality, and the fighting isn't the (real) point of the story anyways.
>>150388108
The best manga hasn't been written yet.
>>150398456
I mean I'm pretty tired and I'm not going to type all my problems with the series
I'm just going to say that I read spirit circle from beginning to end in eight hours and biscuit hammer took me a month and a half
It's kind of a strange length for an adaption. I can see it suffering from quality issues big time unless a metric ton of money was spent on making it look good.
>>150398511
Fair enough. I might be a little clouded by nostalgia but I mostly remember it for the characters and their growth, and I read it fairly fast. chalk it up to a difference in taste, though I did get through spirit circle as fast as the chapters came out and I absolutely loved the exposition through many lives.
>>150388108
Sengoku Youko is better
Biscuit Hammer > Sengoku Youko pt2 > Spirit Circle > Sengoku Youko pt1
It's crazy how vastly better of a MC Senya was vs Jinka.
What's so good about Biscuit hammer?
Seemed pretty mediocre to me, while Spirit Circle was really good
>>150398691
I felt Jinka was really the MC though. With fox girl and best boy Shinuske being a bit more in focus character wise till the end where Jinka got more prominence
>>150398799
*wasn't really
though I liked part 2 more (especially with dragon boy, adult Shinuske, Tiger Dad, and loli god) I felt that part 1 was a little more focused and tighter in a narrative sense and power levels remain rather low till the very end
>>150398799
For 'the' MC he only got 2 pages in the last chapter. It doesn't really matter I suppose.
>>150398864
the entire point of Jinka, and all of part 1 really, was to be a 'fake' shonen protagonist and a 'fake' shonen story that plays itself more or less completely standard up until the final moment, in which it takes shonen power growth to the logical conclusion and has everyone have to react to it accordingly.
>>150398884
Well at least he got the daughter of the best girl in the series. His ensemble was a bit tighter too since Senya's best players aren't always around but Dragon boy and Tiger Monk were fun as fuck
>>150399082
>Kuzunoha is best girl
She was cute
>>150399511
loyal waifu
>>150397997
The better question is why even do THAT. The title is "Hoshi no Samidare" with "Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer" as a subtitle. Just call it Samidare's Planet instead of omitting the actual title entirely.
>>150397997
>2 volumes in one.
How to not sell a series 101.
>>150388108But I havewith /a/ during its release,fucking newfag
>>150389152
Same, but only if The Pillows do the soundtrack.
I just finished re-reading this
God, this scene every time
I make sure to listen to blues Drive monster for this chapter, it fits so well
Remember how we were looking forward to the Shakugan resolution, then her and Shinuske proceeded to share less than 5 lines of dialogue for the rest of the series?
How fun
Good adaption of a shitty light novel.
Sort of like Goblin Slayer.
You can tell its a shitty light novel because muhespiseveryability and a contrived and shitty ending.
>>150388312
This.
>>150388108
Not ecchi
>>150388108
I have read it.
Havent re-read it yet though because when i ordered all the volumes 3-4 was apparently out of stock in literally every bookstore in my country so i've had to finally order it from amazon for like double the price.
>snek ended up married with the fat fuck
>>150390562
Wasn't that the point? I haven't finished reading it myself yet, but, at around halfway through, the impression I have of all that business is that the two main characters are meant to be obviously damaged individuals, and that we aren't meant to root for them, but rather see them grow.
It's a fucking amazing masterpiece.
A shame we can't discuss about it properly anymore with all these contrarian mongoloids.
>>150409004
>hurr durr why do people have different opinions than me?
>>150390682
Really? I thought they are rather common.
It was seriously underwhelming
Doesn't help that you have people calling it "Best Manga" and "fucking amazing masterpiece"
>>150388108
On my backlog since forever. Convince me to clear it.
>>150388108
Haven't read it? I read it once a year. Especially during times I feel especially down.
>>150401404
The author prefers you refer to it by the English title if you're an English speaker for starters.
The Kanji implication is utterly lost in translation anyway.
>>150411274
Because you weren't on /a/ in 2010 and represent a radically different poster from when the series was popular.
It's not that the work had no detractors on /a/ at the time, it's that modern detractors talk about completely different things.
>>150407261
How did they handle the translation? I've always been curious about what they translated domain control to. The original kanji for it didn't give anything solid on the actual term in english.
>>150401404
>Just call it Samidare's Planet
It's Hoshi no Samidare i.e. The Planet's Samidare.
>>150416830
It's Domain Control in the official translation too
>>150388312
