Some people say Akame ga Kill is edgy shounenshit that tries but fails to tell a grey morality story. In fact the moral of the story is brilliantly grey: history is written by the victors.

Yes, pretty much, the Jaegers weren't only the real heroes, they were much better characters than Night Raid people. People keep saying edgy this and edgy that, but the real edge started when Wild Hunt came into the picture, they didn't had any purpose in the series other than being edgy.
