The early threads were some of the comfiest I've been in. But the they get worse the more popular it becomes. Hori's going fast-enough that you can still get some pretty good discussion out of them, though.

The manga itself is one of the best things running in Jump right now. It's generic (in a good way) while giving new takes on common cliches. The only problem is that it often results in people thinking the cliche is going to go all the way through (the amount of retards thinking Bakugou is going to go full Sasuke is unreal).

How long until Golazo and Demons plan get cancelled? Golazo doesn't have enough fujoshi bait to succeed as a sports manga and demons plan is just painfully generic

Something like Haikyuu, despite Japan's long history with volleyball, didn't have much media. Slam Dunk had a similar opening where there really wasn't anything about basketball, just like Eyeshield 21 had no American Football series to compete with.

Without any real competition and a strong enough initial premise they were able to flourish. In fact when you look at all the major sport series that have gone through JUMP most of them have been slightly less popular or more obscure sports(for Japan.)

Soccer/Football series, just like baseball, don't have that luxury. If it's shit at the start it'll get axed. Golazo will get axed half way through its first game.

My Hero Academia did get a push, just like all jump series do. However it didn't get a massive push because Horikoshi has had several cancelled manga before this and WSJ didn't want to throw their full weight behind him. Once it showed it had its own legs, they started pushing it.
