But that's inevitable whenever something goes "mainstream". People liking a thing isn't a problem, and it doesn't diminish the thing (unless those responsible for it change to suit the new audience), but when you broaden a fanbase to include band-wagoners and people from unrelated groups who only like what you like because they feel they can juxtapose their own predilections onto it--see all the shipper faggots convinced that, "Tats is just tsuntsun for Saitama~~"-- the initial fanbase, who liked the object for what it initially represented will become the minority group, and may even come tor resent what they once appreciated.
