Cut the battles and the action entirely.
It's now a comedy slice of life that plays out in short skits detailing daily life on the base, jumping between the perspective of an incompetent teitoku mismanaging his ships, and those ships just getting along with their daily lives. There is no overarching plot and battles are handled off-screen in a joking manner.

Basically like an adaptation of the drama CDs. It doesn't matter who the "MC" is because most ships will get some decent amount of screentime and the focus will be on character interactions and humour rather than some autistic director's abortive love letter to his bland waifu.

Moe sol, never actually show any battles instead just reference them by having the girls come back with stock cartoonish injuries and yell at the admiral for sending them unprepared. If fubuki has to be the MC then each episode would focus on her meeting a different ship class, with some occasional episodes like the curry one in the first series where the larger cast of characters get together for some event. Also a warspite vs kongou episode where they both try to get the teitoku's attention only for him to ignore them both.

Because the merchandise and licensing sales are good, they only need to bring out anime or movies in order to boost the IP value and help recruit new customers and new subscribers.

KanColle anime was simply too much forced plot. What might be interesting if they created an anime series that was NOT canon but made simply for the fun of it. The character designs could also be different for that as well (just as you saw in the Fate Prisma Illya series).

The other alternative is to have a KanColle anime series from the perspective of the other two sides.

Do we see what remains of Kisaragi in the movie? Her death still haunts me to this day.

So Fubuki gotted her 12cm twin gun and blew up the water.
“SHE GOING TO KILL US” said the abyssals
“I will shoot at him” said the aircraft carrier princess and she fired the avenger torpedo bomber. Fubuki torpedoed at her and tried to blew her up. But then the tide fell and they were trapped and not able to kill.
“No! I must kill the abyssals” she shouted
The radio said “No, Fubuki. You are the abyssals.”

So I'd been thinking about the 4koma concept for a while, which basically goes like this:

And I've decided it isn't the case. The problem of Kantai Collection goes deeper than that. I'll describe it in two parts: against the 4koma, and against the anime.

The 4koma denies the shipgirls their identities as warfighters. In doing so, it strips them of their true identities and transforms them into generic SOL protags with occasional nods toward their histories. In this context there's no point in having shipgirls at all, since moe alone is the object. Moe is not the entirety of mecha musume. There should be a mecha. The 4koma fails on this point. Yes, the 4koma is funny. Yes it is well written. No, it is not Kantai Collection.

The anime denies the shipgirls their identities as warfighters against a particular antagonist. It is like a vastly inferior version of the 4koma with vague nods towards their true purpose, without any understanding of that.

Basically the problem is as follows: the girls aren't fighting the USN, Abyssal or otherwise. In the absence of this dynamic, their only purpose in existence, this property is sterile.

Finished watching. So much better than I thought. Very high quality. No visible 3dcg, only beautifully draw 2d.
The movie started with a destroyer kanmusu sinking and she started glowing. Scene then changed to Choukai squad with Aoba, Kako, Furutaka, Ryuujou, Kinigasa and Tenryuu. RJ was very cute here. I repeat, this is very important. RJ was very cute. And Tenryuu was actually using her sword to reflect bullets and fought using it. They then destroyed the enemies but then they heard a voice from somewhere saying things like "I want to go back..." and the ocean was turning red and broke their equipments. Scene changed to Fubuki squad near by. She heard the voice too and answered to it with a smile. Then something happened, a destroyed abyssal sank and turned into Kisaragi. They brought her back to the base. Mutsuki met Kisaragi at the base but she was very weak so the let her rest. Nagato, Kaga, Mutsu and Akagi seems to understand what's going on. They also reported about the voice and the ocean turning red.

Then a party scene of them celebrating their victory. Animated Amatsukaze and Tokitsukaze here. Kumano and Suzuya too. Tatsuta and Tenryuu were very cute in the scene where they talked about the creepy voice they heard. To the next day. Something is weird about Kisaragi. She doesn't remember Fubuki and Yuudachi. That confirmed Kaga's concern about the problem. She decided to explain the situation to Fubuki and Mutsuki. Kaga was once like that. She has been sunk before and turned into an Abyssal. Then she got sunk again and turned back to herself. But she was the only case that ever happened. Fubuki asked then what's the point of them fighting? Kaga said the only solution is to defeat all the Abyssal without any of them simking. And said they must sink Kisaragi when she turned back into an Abyssal. Kisaragi overheard them talking and was suffering about that. To the next day, report about the ocean turning red is getting worse. They must strike as soon as possible. The location is Iron Bottom Sound. Then Yubari reported that only Fubuki's equipments remain undamaged at the red sea and someone saw her answered to the voice. Kaga and Akagi asked her about that but she doesn't remember. They also asked where she was before coming to this base. She doesn't have any memory about that also. Scene changed to Kisaragi suffering and hurting herself over her transformation. Mutsuki saw and say that whatever happen, she will always be Katsuragi to her.

Then the day of the operation. Yuudachi was so badass destroyed so many Abyssal. You get to see Hiei, Sendai full of blood here. As Fubuki squad reaching the source of the voice, turned out that there's a big hole
Over the ocean, they got ambushed here. Yamato protected Fubuki and broke down, full of blood here. One Abyssal graphed Mutsuki's face, readied to kill her. Then Kirasaki in Abyssal form shown up and protected her. Fubuki then tried to reach the hole alone and jumped into it. Turned out the voice was her Abyssal form. She sank here before but for some reason she got her freedom again, leaving her Abyssal part behind. Fuck the guy next to me at this part, he kept crying that I couldn't listen well so I don't really understand what happened but Fubuki said something about the hope of everyone that turned her back. Fubuki then hugged her Abyssal saying it's okay something something. Then her Abyssal broke down, the light from the hole disappeared and destroying every Abyssal nearby including Kisaragi. Mutsuhi held Katsuragi in her arms. Katsuragi said that she didn't want them to fight. Mutsuki said why crying that it'll be okay. She promised that one day they would meet again. Then Kisaragi disappeared into the light. Scene changed to Fubuki returned to the shore, dropping her equipment everywhere and everyone welcome her back (but Mutsuki wasn't there). Credit roll
