I just watched the anime for the first time in preparation for the second season the other day, and I must say I truly enjoyed Aqua's character even though I didn't think I was going to like her much. She just had an interesting relationship with Kazuma and a variety of aspects to her personality, definitely more than the other two main girls ever did. Especially Darkness, whose character had exactly one joke attached to it repeated constantly. Megumin was cute but she needs more time.

Maybe it'll be different in season 2, but I'm looking forward to seeing more of those two.

I liked that Darkness ''sometimes'' keeps a clear head and acts ''normal'' in some situations, like with that flower girl in volume 5. I think there were a few times this was shown, like when she agreed with Megumin about wanting to stay together forever and the part with the lie detector where she outright reveals her gratitude to Kazuma

Not to mention Aqua and Kazuma both enjoyed the month of hard labor so much that they completely forgot their circumstances

Someone earlier in the thread said that in the early webseries she chose to stay in Australia, and Kazuma came back to her.

Konosuba is a frustrating series because waifufags have decided to cling onto it very, very tightly and it's hard to admit you genuinely love the series when you have Megumi Mondays and nonstop arguing over who's the cutest. It's also doubly frustrating when you pick a bestgirl but can't admit it because it'll just fan the flames of the waifu wars. I wish we could go back to the days when it was pre episode 6.

They're not wholly relevant to the series, so it makes sense that most of those scenes were cut, but it's nice to see Kazuma actually with some male mates hanging out.
