Depends of how timid. I hate the kind of character that hides behind a wall everytime someone wants to talk to them

A timid character needs to know when it's time to stop being timid, or at least pretend not to be. For me, a story should give timid characters the opportunity to prove they're not completely useless.

I like seeing them overcome their timidness

but they're usually pretty bad characters because they're all the same and often hold up the pace of the show because of something that really doesn't matter
