To be honest, there doesn't seem to be any upside of going into Pure Illusion.

Most of the worlds are dangerously hostile and are largely empty, lacking essential features present in the real world. I don't particularly have any use for Amorphous and their wish-granting powers are dubious at best. It sounds like a pretty lousy gig, all things considered. It's more or less what happened with Dantalian no Shoka.
The story was comfy to watch and the protags were really likeable, but there was no overall encompassing story.

Furthermore, in FlipFlapper's case, there was barely any marketing in order to get people interested in this show. Furthermore, the people involved in this show don't have much weight to their names - be it the director, the music staff, or the VAs.

The show has also lacked any scenes with impact, be it shock value, constant over-the-top action, or melodrama. The tone of the story isn't even dark and mysterious, to pretend to try to subvert some well-known genre, nor is the story trying to play it safe by using some common high-school setting with a harem.

The show is fun to watch for a myriad things, mainly if you pay attention and, to a degree, if you like over-analysing things, but it doesn't really have the aspects that make a show sell well.

Yeah, pretty much. It means that people who probably wouldn't be able to otherwise can own a shiny new house, the construction sector is kept busy and the government takes a cut of everyone coming and going. Of course, the trade-off here is that you're not really a land-owner and you don't have something tangible to hand down to your children.

We're only a little more than halfway through and it feels like it's approaching the end, which is good. Five episodes is a lot of time for an endgame, so hopefully they'll use it to build up to something huge. The biggest mistake this show can make at this point is not being ambitious enough.

If that's the kind of route they're going to take, I'd be more inclined to believe Cocona would fill the role of villain. Cocona's discussion with plant loli in episode three could hint at this, and she's already been shown to be very susceptible to manipulation with how easily she's been influenced by elements of PI and how willing she is to go along with Flip Flap despite not knowing very much about them or their goals. Lines like
