Will the new episode of Flip Flappers beat the 3rd episode?
>episode about to air
>complains about thread
Was your general deleted?
Only if Uexküll in his advanced form shows up.
>was a beta
>now a cuck
>HS releases Flip Flappers on time
What wizardry is this?
sorry, I mean episode 8 and 10 aren't Pablo.
But they also didn't clearly saying they will do the rest of episodes (after eps 10).
Yuyu said she's gonna report Yayaka giving the fragment to cocopapi. They're so gonna kick her out in the next episode.
I'm one minute into episode 8 and can't handle all these ass-shots
Then next episode Yayaka is going to try join Flip Flap and Papika won't be able to get over their personal differences and will fight with Yayaka which will piss off Cocona leading to the described argument I bet.
I like the city design but it needs a more brighter neon glow.
Will KKK at least give Yayaka a recommendation letter?
Sayuri confirmed virgin. No-one is her boyfriend.
So I take it it was Hidaka's PI and his representation looks small because he's a huge manchild who never grew out of his love so super robots?
It’s over, flip flap is finished
>airhorn on every hit
Was this maybe Yayaka checking on Coco because she seemed depressed last episode, her tsundereness was on full display this episode and i loved every second.
Yeah you are fucked. There is the hard sub edition that [Cocana] subs used
Next time get an android tablet that can download from torrent and use IRC.
What did Bu mean by this?
It could be one of those too, could be lots of things.
Her mistaking it for candy (ie it's not plastic) and it being in a school swimming pool makes it more likely to be a chlorine ball though.
Personally if it turns out the backstory is more along the lines of dual personalities/Cocona being Mimi and Papika being sort of trapped in a loop where she is repeating her original relationship with the person unknowingly, I would like it a fair bit more than the more obvious but less interesting Gendo/Yui ripoff
We also learned that the fragments are an extraneous element to PI and only corrupt (consume?) the worlds they land in. Why are they suddenly appearing all over PIs? That's backstory material for ep 10 or 11 probably
So this is Hidaka's PI and pic related is his representation of Sayuri. Can't relate to
So, does Papika have repressed memories of Mimi that are starting to resurface due to the fragments and she calls Cocona that because of the resemblance? That's what I'm getting out of it.
It does look Cocona is more aware of her feelings. Good transition ep between fun and drama. /m/ must be flip fapping right now.
That's...Cocona with Papimouto's hairstyle, huh?
I guess that confirms that all those Papika's are reflections of Cocona('s feelings).
>Cocona in shadow
>Papika in the light
I wonder if Cocona looking at Papika during her speech about protecting what's precious meant she was talking about her.
Well, they entered the PI by slamming onto Bu-chan in the pool so it belonging to both Bu-chan and Hidaka (the latter represented by the scientist) seems likely.
>sees a pure girl like Papika as a succubus
Again, she has no shame.
It might just be brain damage. Definitely something wrong with that girl.
It would make for a nice bit of symbolism if it turns out to be the case, with Papika "leading" Cocona into the house where the witch resides (taking her on the journey to rediscovering her lost identity), thus creating a rift in their understanding/relationship with each other, and Cocona finally resolving to be simply herself rather than anything imposed over her, thus throwing the witch away and reuniting with Papika.
It would only work -really- well if what I said here >>150131619 turns out to be the case, which is still up in the air. If it turns out it's all just a mother-daughter thing with obscured motives then the idea kinda disperses and I dunno where they could go with that other than generic "beat the KKK because ur SPECIAL"
>no buu-chan in pure illusion
>city planet is in shape of brain
Hidaka is the Great White Creator and his city (which is a literal brain) is his most precious invention (=Buu)
Going back to 6, that world could also be Iroha's relationship with her craft or a particular painting. The direct memories they accesed through the door doesn't have to be of the same nature as the usual PI which seems more like an abstract representative layer that exists between reality and the subconscious (so you can access someone's mind from PI, but PI itself is not someone's mind)
Something like that. I wasn't thinking about it enough, but it's clearly Hidaka with the way everything is set up. Hidaka's work is his art, which is why Cocona thinks about Iroha's painting.
Am I stupid or does Yayaka have both the flappers eye colors in this shot?
I think it's more that Buu itself is Hidaka's most precious thing, as his greatest creation (Hidaka prides himself in his engineering genius)
Not sure if we'll ever get told what's the deal with the brain, and we don't really need to.
Now I wanna see Sayuri's PI. Probably full of mahou shoujo bullshit. Or maybe it was episode 3 or 5 after all.
This show is too good. It's just too good. We don't deserve it.
+ Cocona's character development finally making her do shit, hell yeah.
+ That fucking insert song, holy shit
+ Cocona and Papika functioning as more of a team than they ever have
+ Yayaka tsun tsun
- that one shot of Cocona's ass was a little gratuitous
- it's clearly a transition episode, so while it was entertaining it was still just a transition episode ultimately
A lighting thing which was created deliberately by the people making the shot
I could see what the anon is saying in the context of that scene, yyk's eyes stand in for ccn and ppk, which are matched with foreboding shots of the twins looking at her
I knew it looked weird but it makes a lot more sense that the lazy Yapico floating in to gattai would also be part of the parody.
>- it's clearly a transition episode, so while it was entertaining it was still just a transition episode ultimately
FF is all about the episodic stories at this point
the overarching plot will remain doubtful until they prove otherwise, it's not a negative to have a self-contained episode as long as it's good
The OST rips can't come soon enough.
>which are matched with foreboding shots of the twins looking at her
That shot was about the twins going "what the fuck Yayaka"
If anything the lighting is to show Yayaka torn between two sides.
Kind of a bland episode unfortunately. Just "we go into Tron world and fight the giant robot." And practically all the conversations were expository.
This show has really taken a nose dive in quality after episode 6.
This is my idea >>150131619 >>150132083
I think at this point it's pretty likely either of the two cases:
-Mimi is Cocona's mom and Papika is some sort of ageless being who was friends with Mimi and her resurfacing memories due to the fragment are making her confuse reality
-Mimi and Cocona are actually the same being/two parts of the same being/some other split personality shenanigans and Papika is literally remembering that 'Cocona' is also 'Mimi' which will create an identity conflict for Cocona (who has been basing a lot of her newfound self-worth around Papika's comfort and assuredness in her)
>those stupid fucking birds
>that fucking song when the vehicles merge
>all that yayaka bullying and blushing
>the fight in general
>yayaka backstory episode
Episode 8 best fucking episode.
I really liked the bridge reaction shows where the size difference was emphasized, they were genuinely funny in a way that was effective for more than just 'lol parody'
It was a great episode nothing downhill. Posts like these just read like the same shit every week. Probably the same person trying to say the writing was shit before. Looking to establish any kind of negative narrative in the hope it might catch on as a meme.
Is Pops best girl?
Hidaka didnt say anything mean at the end while at the start he was pretty rude.
Chances are Papika is a little bit crazy
Or maybe Cocona is the crazy one
And there is also Papika's ankle shackle to consider
Also ep1 ends with that weird capture scene which was never explained
Monster was probably water from the pool he was in.
>yfw they saved Buu-chan's life.
The power of friendship and threesomes.
Simply the best.
>they saved Buu-chan's life
They did, but they also damaged him in the process.
Bu-chan is TT-392, and going by the runes and Hidaka's comment he's an old model from the KKK days.
you know i was very hesitant at all the FLCL comparisons that were being thrown around since day 1 but this new idea of PI representing the quotidian conflicts and inner struggles of people in larger than life manner is pretty damn Gainax-y
Now I just wish it was used from the start on all the worlds rather than limiting the scenarios to detailing events within
That last line with Mimi totally destroyed me.
If Papika began liking Cocona because of some Mimi backstory this would be the only thing at this point, that could hurt their relationship...
When will they learn?
Yoyoko fanart wil skyrocket next week.
it seems like that is a clear path after how this episode ended. cocona's suicidal personality from episode 1 is gonna threaten to come back in full force if the thing that got her out of that mindset to begin with, Papika's apparently genuine belief in her potential and capabilities, shows signs of being an (heh) illusion
I somewhat agree. Despite having a lot of great aspects (Pops, super robot with the IN song, Yayaka bullying, etc.), it felt like there was something missing. A lot of style and not much substance, especially with how previous episodes were chock full of themes and imagery to analyze. Maybe I missed all of it. It was a fun episode but even with all the service, I don't think it measures up to the previous episodes.
At least this episode will help get the ball rolling since it's likely that Yayaka's aide here is what will get her replaced in KKK and we'll begin to learn about Mimi now that it's out in the open.
that is just my exaggeration but people who are like ep1 cocona at 13 can easily spiral down into chronic depression, especially if there is a true, concrete identity crisis like they are setting up (ever since the dream)
Oh fuck oh fuck oh fuck...
I was sure pic related ment Papika wished for a friend but now...
Everyone was talking about some dark twist, but if their relationship was actually artificial and every cute moment was actually dishonest and sad, it would hit much harder then some gory death.
I'm pretty sure the fanservice is a visual reference itself.
Notice that Papika and Cocona sit on what looks like a toilet seat and a bike seat. It seems like Hidaka is quite the Golden Boy.
>papika knew she wanted to meet cocona as soon as she saw her but didnt understand why
>now her mimi memories are all coming back
>suddenly papika confused, cocona depressed, relationship broken
>its up to the blonde cuck to fix this
Yuyu helped him with that.
IT WAS NTR ALL ALONG
This might be an episode that is better appreciated after the show is finished. I agree that there isn't much to chew on compared to previous episodes. The PI/subject relationship was obvious(not necessarily a bad thing), Yayaka had some good development, and it's looking like the 'Cocona is Mimi' theory is gaining weight. Despite not being a big mecha fan, I still enjoyed the hell out of this episode.
Salt PI when?
This episode alone is pretty Yoyoko friendly. It became painfully obvious that she cares but can't show it because of the KKK.
Ep 6 was cocona literally going into a flashback and affecting a real person with her actions in it. Either she changed senpai's memories or literally went back in time and changed events either way it was more than a simple flashback.
There was symbolism hinting at it, that doesn't mean she's actually suicidal though, it's more like a general direction of her mental state.
Her life was just pretty depressing and she probably felt very alone, not knowing what she could do to improve her life.
You are obviously getting defensive over your opinion. I won't bother typing out an explanation because it will fall on deaf ears. Just know that most people who watched this episode don't agree with you.
Are people nuts? This episode was great. Leagues better than the last two.
I mean if your idea of substance is things that reveal bits of plot in a fictional universe then you are very easy to please or your definition of the word substance doesn't match with how most people use it in most contexts
this is why the style vs substance dichotomy is pure garbage when it comes to talking about art. i'd even take the form vs content talk before it, but only if the people using it understand 'content' in a broad enough sense because otherwise it's still talking about nothing
my only claim that people would agree or disagree with is yyk's thing, which hasn't been argued
the only thing i'm arguing against is discussing media in stupid buzzwords that make it more shallow for no reason other than convenience
Somebody should make a FlipFlap edit of this pic
Probably the third best episode in terms of fun, but overall Id say this was the the 2nd worst, just barely edging over episode 2. That isn't saying much though because every episode has been absolutely fantastic.
>tfw we'll probably never see him again
Yeah, Yayaka probably has do to most work to get them back together (at least i hope this will happen)
I guess she will have a talk with Cocona about how her feelings are genuine even if the situation was forced and probably will have an actual fight with Papika to make her understand the situation.
If we aren't lucky Cocona and Yayaka will leave all this KKK/Flip Flappers buisness, fuck up both their plans and we get a sad looking Papika while they are leaving. This would probably break me.
I don't think they started as the same person, but it's almoste sure that Mimi has lives in Cocona in some form.
I'm guessing that Mimi got fucked up somehow whiel creating PI and some part of her went in Coconas Leg.
How the hell did this series get the go ahead for an animated series, of such quality, without a proven publication, ensuring profitability for the studio and investors? For all we know, the show would have flopped hard and be bad for all those involved.
Does this even have merchandising? Flip Flappers is hardly even a brand, compared to the giants such as Naruto or One Piece
They are recalling someone else's memories. Cocona with her wet dreams and Papika through her flashbacks. I still think Cocona is that ugly baby while Papika is experiencing Salto's memories. Maybe they'll make parallels between Mimi/Cocona and Papika/Salto.
i don't understand the context for cocona remembering iroha's painting when pops talks about defending the city
cocona seems to want to say something but is cut off by sayuri unit 01 showing up
pops wants to defend the precious city he created
cocona wants to defend the people precious to her
iroha wants to defend her paintings? that doesn't seem right
Style and Substance are not buzzwords. Style refers to animation, one-liners, aesthetics, visual puns, anything that can be appreciated regardless of context. Substance is the parts that only make sense within/ help drive the narrative.
>dangers of PIs are revealed by the adventure
>PI helps ppk realize fl/fl's mortality and she becomes sympathetic to ccn
>ccn sympathizes with the fun they had
>ccn's desire for relevance conveyed by her actions and dialogue with the baddie
>ppk's chaotic good nature revealed through her helping the villagers
>fl/fl's disharmony demonstrated by their starting locations
>kkk reveal as neutral evil
I could go on, but I trust you see it now
It's a passion project, there's a reason all of Japan went crazy when it was announced and details started to surface.
It's almost guaranteed to lose 3hz money but it will give them a portfolio and open loads of doors for them.
she drew a comparison between Iroha's painting and Pops' city as both were creations precious to their makers
Cocona destroyed Iroha's paintings, metaphorically by making her not care about it anymore, so she was afraid of doing the same thing to other people in other PIs. but she saw this episode that she can also protect them from the fragments' corrupting influence, so she finally found a positive sense of purpose from her excursions to PI
>the PI was technology-based, and some emphasis goes to the cramped spaces, which is something Sayuri complained about in Hidaka's workspace. Hidaka's chuuni is also reflected well in Pops
>CCN and PPK entered the PI by landing on Buu-chan in the pool. The world had a brain-like texture to it. He was also completely absent during the PI portion of the episode. And then he exploded for no reason at the end.
>Sayuri had an attitude change towards Hidaka. It's not really visible from their interactions, however it's telling that he used to call him Hidaka-san and now she calls him Doctor Hidaka. Still a cute, tho
So whose PI was it?
>too many phallic objects
>too much fanservice.
Harenchi. This episode is one of the worst.
>twins wanted to hurt based Pops
