I generally loathe tsundere, but Akiha was a genuinely good character, because she had good reason to be annoyed, didn't resort to constant violence, and most importantly, her temper issues were noted by the others to be an issue and not conveniently glossed over.

In comparison, while Rin may not be too violent either, her tsundere side is way too hamfisted and in your face in UBW compared to the other routes, and in HF where her aloofness ends up causing genuine suffering, it's conveniently ignored by everyone who's not crazy, and forgiven instantly after a "yeah... sorry".

I personally don't mind either character so don't interpret my post as versus bait. In SF it was revealed that humans wielding NPs cannot hurt vampires(as opposed to HS). So while a CG like Archer could hurt one, Shirou himself wielding an NP could not. Shirou borrows the swordmanship from the swords he summons but against a DA he would be limited to regular swords(swords without skill).

Let's say he knows this and is only limited to projecting regulars swords. Do you think Shirou could beat an average Dead Apostles, let's say Jester, using his own swordskill?

The really neat thing about Akiha is that despite being a "tsundere" a lot of the coy teasing and condescension is actually from Akiha toward Shiki rather than the other way around. The power dynamic feels pretty different imo.

It's definitely true the manga is very strong, but I remember the "open door everyone kill the vampire whore" moment as one of the strongest hooks in VNs for me. The regular kind of depressed but still likable kid figuratively dies alongside the normal world he lives in and gets replaced by some kind of monster that lives in a world filled with them.

Shirou would win a straight up fight, there's no competing this. Nanaya strain only comes out when fighting against monsters so Shiki would have to rely on his normal human reflexes in a nerd's body.
