Anne Happy, both are pretty subpar though.

Anne Happy, I can't remember a single damn thing about Sansha Sanyou beyond dropping it after 3 episodes.

Sansha Sanyou was only watchable because of Dogakobo. Anne Happy wasn't watchable at all.

I liked both shows but yeah it is a no contest here in favor of sansha. It's good like a Hagen dazs vanilla ice cream - simple but enjoyable and good at what it set out to be. Unhappy was good but a bit gimmicky.

Give Oonuma some good source material to work with and you get masterpieces like ef or Anne Happy. SS wasn't bad, but Anne Happy was on another level.

Nah that never happened. It was during the first few episodes when it started but midway into the season when it was clearcut how different shows they were, the shitposters pretty much stopped trying to force it.

Sansha, for me. It wasn't particularly great, but I dropped Anne after three episodes: I basically only liked the titular character, the mascot was the most annoying one I've seen in years and the whole misfortune trials subplot put me off quickly.
