I dunno, while Joseph is good and Gyro is good, they're very similar personalities. Generally a more extroverted character works better alongside a more restrained one, a really wacky duo can seem too similar and make things devolve into a farce.

Why the hell did everyone have a problem with Dio's World? Sure as hell looks fine to me. 20 Meter Radius Emerald Splash was a really really good scene, and everything onwards was pretty good aswell. Even with the QUALITY shots, the actual animation is still miles better than 70% of Part 4.

While I agree that Aishou seemed more of a victim than anything, he didn't show any signs of showing Tsurugi mercy. When he was confronting Joubin it was him saying 'I'm going to kill your kid, don't go ape on me okay' rather than any attempts to make peace or at least get out of killing the kid.

Rock-men can have attachment and affection for humans and each other, but I don't think we've seen any of them display actual compassion, including towards children.

Considering he talks to "Joubin" and asks repeatedly instead of just saying once then going and do the job. He loses the fight because he's too busy talking to Joubin in a panicked state and shouting to notice PMK.

The choice to show Kakyoin's death before the reveal of The World's powers was a fantastic one which made it more tense as well as making him and Joseph more relatable. Not to mention his actual death-scene itself, the colours slowly bleeding away while he remembers his parents and that sad music plays. And Kakyoin's arc was never handled very well in the manga anyway, with him being put on a bus for the better half of the arc and getting no victories and then dying almost as soon as he comes back.

Sure, they're tragic characters, but it's just frustrating to read.

And even after part 6 I found it impossible to sympathize with DIO, the guy was an ass. The only Dio I can sort of feel for is Diego, and even then he was a prick who betrayed an ally to save himself, and probably would've done the same to HP too.

The anime didn't change much overall. There are some scenes which are cut (DIU in particular has had a few) and some parts which were lengthened, but on the whole it's a very accurate adaption.

Kakyoin's death-scene was altered a bit, but I stand by thinking it's for the best. In the manga, the reader gets shown the secret of DIO's power then watches the characters struggling to make sense of it afterwards, which makes DIO seem pretty cool but just leaves you thinking 'it's so obvious, hurry up and get it'. The anime's version is more intimate and shocking, putting you in the position of the heroes as they're actively holding the strategic advantage one second and violently fucked-up the next. And Kakyoin's message comes off as more powerful too, because the realization of what it meant gives the viewers a new scene as well, instead of it just being Joseph figuring out something we'd already been shown.

I didn't freak out over the Cinderella change either, it made Kira's use of her make mildly more sense and didn't have the whiplash of going from the reveal of the main villain and the murder of an ally to Koichi messing around with a girl.

Spike/Scarless Joubin looks so odd. I love most of the JJL's designs. They all strike that balance of being different but not too outrageous or simple. I like the small touches, especially with the hair that Araki did, the spikes, balls and arrows.
