Watching the story evolve and actually get better as time went on was part of the fun. and admittedly, by shoveling most of the redundant crap into the dungeon crawling we learn the inner workings of the world so that when we get the side stories we don't need vehemently explained garbage we've always heard. So does anyone know why the manga went with a white/pink color for Kumoko? I haven't seen the LN illustration, so I don't know what they went with there, but I recall that the entire Taratect line of evolutions are supposed to all be black, and the white came later from jumping evolution paths.

The thing is once you learned the truth about exp and stats = souls you have to accept that everyone high level is essentially a fucking blender of bits of souls from their enemies mixed with their original soul.

It's also one of the unspoken reasons that Sophia grew up so changed without realizing it, because she power leveled like crazy.in such a short time span, same with Wrath. I do that all the time with quirky characters and MTL. Best example is Motoyasu and Spear Hero Gaiden MTL. Holy shit the broken engrish fits him perfectly.

I think ROT does the Chinese proverbs and slangs pretty well even with translations, but maybe that's just how Chen Mou basically tells the story like a stage play with the frequent call backs and all. Might also be the really gorgeous art and the smug and pretentious faces of chuuni dynasty warriors doing the chink equivalent of jojo posing for 500+ chapters though, can't say which.

You're right about it in general though, the only two chink series I take seriously are Ravages and Song of Long March. Everything else is better with MTL.

There's a strong theory the author is just padding things out. I mean, remember at the start of the series there would be daily updates.

And not just one chapter, like often three or more chapters. It was insane and wonderful.

But pretty much ever since we hit the elf war... you could kind of see the end game. It wouldn't have been surprising if the story wrapped up in like another dozen-ish chapters. But instead the author decided to retell like half the story again from other character perspectives.

And now we get bullshit sections like having a week of updates being nothing but a meeting between several characters, and then each new chapter being the same damn meeting just from a different POV.

While the perspective changed time did advance, other than the retelling of a couple spots from early on. I actually really liked getting the perspective change in the meetings though, particularly the lack of shit given by Shiro about anything but the part where she has to talk to people, while the Pope is basically shitting himself and overthinking everything that she's doing.

Seven Deadly Sins deserved so much better but they fucked that one up so hard. It's akin to what happened to Berserk. Nakaba is such a sick artist and to take that away from the series is atrocious.
It's like Berserk without Miura's art or Tokyo Ghoul without Ishida's art. Both of these other series have failed because their unique style was eliminated.

Bones has been on fucking point recently, and WIT has been shown to do good adaptations as well. I highly doubt Madhouse would consider picking this show up.

But what will probably happen is fucking JC staff will pick it up. Adapt one volume and then proceed to ignore the series until the end of time.

As it is the side stories aren't thaaaat important. I mean most of them were just shock value chapters that get explained later on, or doing a giant red herring with the demon lord. It also makes a bunch of the recent chapters a bit more boring since we've already gone over all this stuff but from the opposite viewpoint.

I think it's fine if they get skipped, only part I'd miss would be the little sister scenes (which are better with Shiro anyways), and the big betrayal she does with Yugo and Sophia.
I had to reread that bit with the king a few times. I couldn't really believe it happened.

Also that's one of the changes I'd heard about in the LN. Sophia is there when the shit hits the fan and Shun runs from her because he knows he's outclassed. Makes sense especially since we find out how involved she is in the WN.

Well prior to that there was thi elf loli safeguarded by some rat dude that got kidnapped by a lich or something. so satou goes and enters the portal where the loli was taken in an gets inside a towere where he has to prove himself by climbing it and defeating the lich.

He does something to get there quick but the lich says he cheated and sends him back to the start, so he does it "properly" then finds some elf girls, defeats them. later after beating the lich he sends the elf loli back and the tower's self-destruct mechanism activates so it's getting filled with salt.

He uses the tower's teleportation thingy to get where one of the elf girls was, and escapes by pushing himself with a steam explosion out of the tower just before the salt crushed him and the elf girl. He says that he could very well survive being buried in slat but he'd go crazy.

I could be wrong in some things since im typing this from memory but that's how it generally went.
