Which isn't even bad, it's consistent. Akira has long gone on record that Goku doesn't really know what love it. He doesn't love Chi Chi, he just thinks of her as a really good friend. I find it strange that Chi Chi would never have tried to kiss or tell him what a kiss is though. Probably the greatest form of affection from Goku is being hugged.

Babidi was searching for large amounts of energy to awaken Majin Buu. After the Cell Games he came because of the power that he noticed coming from Earth, or rather Gohan. In Trunk's timeline the Cell Games never occurred, and so Babidi didn't come to Earth as early because he had no reason to (No Gohan to lure him into coming).
