>MC gets transported to another world
>has to learn farming to survive
>gets NTRed by a handsome, stronger guy
Is this the deconstruction of the Isekai genre?
The entire scene was so bizarre I halfway expect it to be revealed she was playing up her part and is more torn about it than she let off. Because seeing how completely straight this was played felt weird as hell.
>MC becomes OP in the 3rd chapter
Well it was good while it lasted
This. And DS is the pinnacle of that subgenre.
The guy who's currently translating the LN had to break up the last chapter into 2 parts because he couldn't handle all that EDGE in one sitting
This is supposed to be silly, right? Like, on purpose?
Same kind of question like with Akuma no Riddle.
he was summoned by a kingdom as heroes to fight in a war, but they were so weak they lost anyway.
the kingdom then abandoned them in a village and they had to figure out a way to survive.
You're looking at it wrong from the start. Its not Isekei, its a revenge story. You get off on seeing the MC take revenge on things and be edgy. After he mans up and decides to take charge of his world.
Well, all right.
In the LN, the author plays it straight
Not surprising for a guy who names himself xXx.sakamoto.666.xXx
The girl later becomes a rape slave, until she finally snaps and uses her whore skills to wreak revenge on the world
This is the type of shit that turns people into Venom Snake
Let's write a Isekai /a/ are you ready?
>MC gets sent into a fantasy world.
>Something bad happens that is supposed to make us feel bad for the MC.
>Nevermind the MC secretly has god mode.
Sarcasm aside, there are some that aren't THAT terrible. But this one definitely is. Just like the new gate, the one about the slime, and the genderbent summoner to name a few. It's the same shit over and over.
What is the definition of isekai? Is Goblin Slayer one?
I'm just pulling your leg because it's funny when an accuser goes nuts and starts shooting in the dark, hoping to snipe the one person he hates.
Actually, I get the feeling that you'll call me a /v/ crossposter if I write REEEEEEEEE too.
Ah, okay thanks. I thought it was anything that felt like an RPG. Is NTR a requirement? Seems like all those I can think of have it (SAO, Accel World, the shit in OP).
Is it still umaruposting if I only have umaru torture porn?
Could anyone explain to me why this is considered spam?.
make sure to post these in the actual umaru threads. it's not like there's any discussion going on there anyway.
they wasted no time giving him the cheat ability either, since he got it right after he was summoned
Ah, that makes sense, that's why it's so prevalent then. A whole generation of anime watchers cucking themselves in SAO, so beautiful.
>how is that an inventory? It's a modern day vault.
I don't see what you're getting at. The box is where he can store things like the cards that represent abilities. It's an inventory, simple as that.
What was the name of that one LN where the guy finishes the quest and is backstabbed by the princess? He is taken back to when he first started and beats the everloving shit out of her and the guards.
I can't wait for the next chapter when the MC gets itadakimasu'd by the cannibal girl.
See, that's the danger of going fast. If you ever stop, you're done for.
GOTTA GO FAST is a mantra of the highest quality: those who do not adhere to it faithfully will suffer the consequences.
Nidome no Yuusha
It's a bit more fun than Arifureta because of that. That said, those two are probably two of the worst of the genre. The worst would be some retarded shit about a super martial artist who goes to another world and gets the power to enslave girls. Fucking couldn't go past 3 chapters.
There's more than one about a person with the power to enslave girls? I remember Himekishi ga Classmate had the guy going into the world and his class was literally Slavemancer, but his real world self was an unremarkable salaryman and not a martial artist.
You know, this manga could have been better (and still edgy) if he didn't get that shitty weapon and the levels, just the body rot ability or whatever it's called.
MC would have limited ammunition, for once. Mobs would die easily because they all bite him, but bigger bosses who slash or beamspam would pose an amazing challenge for him; the strategy fights we all love would have been the main focus.
>betrayal girl already got it worse than the mc
How can there be revenge if killing her would be putting her out of her misery? I don't think the MC is creative enough to do more than she's already suffered through.
it gets boring real fast, im not gonna make the same mistake i did with shield bro, the anger and emotions are real fucking dull after 20 chapters in a revenge isekai plot
>tfw beamspam is ridiculously strong and usually the only way to counter it is insane tanking or being really fast
I love beamspam and wish there was more honestly. I guess it just doesn't read well in LN.
Then he dies again (truck, of course) and is reincarnated in the same world but 100 years later where bards sing praises about how the great king [popular guy] saved the world, built a harem and fucked every hot woman on the planet including the MC's childhood friend.
And also every love interest in the series is [popular guy]'s daughter/granddaughter/great-granddaughter/sloppy seconds.
Muv-Luv already both deconstructed and reconstructed isekai way back in 2006.
Your standard isekai stuff where the MC is summoned to defeat the demon lord with help of his companions he gets on the way.
The twist is that the story begins about a year after he does so, the princess and his party had turned on him shortly after killing the demon lord, the MC on the run and he's persecuted by the whole world and his party who all have reasons to kill him. in his deathbed he promises to viciously torture and kill them all if he gets a second chance.
Shortly after dying, the "tutorial mode" ends and the goddess revives the MC and sends him back to the time of his summoning where he makes good on his promise to torture and kill the people who betrayed him, starting with the princess who summoned him.
Enjoy (you won't)
I like how he becomes overpowered. It's the typical David vs Goliath story.
Like how the MC gets NTR'd by a dude much stronger, then works hard to make himself OP, and NTRs the woman back, and NTRs other hot women too.
In Shieldbro they reveal that being a hero kind of increases the number of monsters you'll encounter, encountering so many baloons and other low-level monsters just outside populated areas was unheard of to your usual adventurer but it was common for heroes. Probably to increase exp gain or something by giving them something to kill in numbers.
As far as the TL has gone, the princess was tortured and had some shit engraved on her body with some sword that the MC had that's so hot it could melt metal. He also stole some relic that belonged to the princess and set up a trap in case she ever used it.
He's not edgy so often though, he's more of a "pay evil onto evil" kinda guy. He apologized to some part-dwarven blacksmiths that died in the first loop because of his fault. The country the princess belongs to is kinda xenophobic and they got on the chopping block because the MC mentioned them having dwarven blood to the princess.
Well, the princess pinned everything evil onto him, some mage wanted to experiment on his body for some magical research shit, the priestess was a yandere who wanted to save him from the "taint of the demon lord" (who was a woman and the only one who really gave a sht about the MC). I don't know about the others though, this i only read from another anon's notes.
They never liked him from the beginning (except that yandere cleric but that is a little different), party members pretty much hated Kaito. One was envious, one wanted to experiment, long story short, they wanted to have him do all the dirty work and throw him away the worst way possible (and the fact the way he was summoned was that beastmen were raped for sacrifice as well as probably the entire block of Kaito's world that includes his family and maybe his school). He fell in love with Maou (pissed off priest). He went on the quest of revenge from chapter 1, brutalized princess, got bunny girl, met nice dwarf family, got another accomplice (elf), brutalized and ruined mage. Blah, blah, blah, yeah.
I like Isekai that actual worldbuilds well
Where the skills that the characters get are actually earned
Mushoku Tensei is one of my favorites because it's not just about a kid learning magic, there are also a bunch of other characters that get development
Same with Re:Zero, only slightly less waifufaggotry
i couldn't care less about harems, i hate the entire cast being female because im not a desperate female-seeking retard, but if theres a bunch of girls who go full turbo slut for the MC and a guy that is the MC's best bro, im cool with the cast.
NTR remains shittier than harem and virgin until winner
this is also why i kept reading sword art online, eugeo was the only thing that kept me going
Isekai is basically: you suddenly die or you're in a death game that transports you, suddenly, after you beat it, into an alternate future; and you're either granted broken as fuck powers or you inherit them from defeating the death game.
Further, no one else in the history of the world has ever had powers like yours or knowledge like yours; making you an even further outlier than you were originally with your broken powers.
Some stories handle it well, other stories are full blown autism; like this thread's story.
Not really, she was just picked by mc out of similar desires, never really met her before.
Not so much edgy, it's so funny that having to read it. You laugh at the fact of how bad it is.
Eh, should have just gone for the kill.
Looking at this story in retrospect, what really should have happened is this:
> Just kill the bitch from the beginning, spare the revenge.
> Bunny is ok, you know what, whatever.
> Go to Maou and follow her till she finally falls in love with you.
> Kill the former "comrades" on the way, but without emotion. Far better than "ahahahahahaha".
> Destroy the kingdom under demon army
Would have probably improved.
>the twist is that everyone backstabs him
thats not really much of a twist when you think about how many Issekai also do this. Also Ubel Blatt was literally this except not issekai
>transported to another world
>which is at war with an invading horde
>where mad vidya skills let him get ahead because of similarity to his Vidya games
>and he pretend to be a genius with foreknowledge and prior experience
>wakes up covered in bitches
>brings knowledge of his world to the new world to save the world and take the credit for other people's ideas
>defeats the alien king with a special skill only he can do
>not modern isekai
The New Gate is one that handles it decently, in that the progatonist goes out of his way to stay low key. He's very strong to begin with (being that he solo'd the final boss in the death game), and then defeating said boss broke his power scale (but in turn gave him a limiter he can turn on/off, and generally keeps on most of the time).
It's technically an isekai story, but ironically, the writing and pacing comes across more as a Slice of Life Isekai than a "hurr durr so broken so wow hurrr" Isekai.
It's not great by any measure, and sometimes the pacing drags a lot; half of Volume 3 is basically breakfast, exposition, gathering gear, and more exposition--then a trip into the mountains.
So far it's still one Isekai that I enjoy, and the other one is Knights and Magic.
TNG LN: https://shintranslations.com/the-new-gate-toc/
TNG manga: http://mangabom.com/manga/the_new_gate
Knights and Magic LN: http://www.novelupdates.com/series/knights-magic/
Knights and Magic manga: http://read.egscans.com/Knights_and_Magic/Chapter_001
Protag of Knights & Magic is a software engineer, who's also a massive mecha otaku that got killed by a sudden knife attack (because he protected his kouhai and kouhai's fianceé to be). He gets transported into a world where there's mecha knights, and he strives to be a knights engineer. The book goes to great lengths to show off the whole engineering side of isekai mecha than it does combat and the like, though there is a decent amount of that.
It is, nonetheless, isekai; so naturally gifted and super talented with foreign world knowledge galore. It's a silly and amusing read.
>isekai seikishi monogatari not mentioned
You massive faggots.
>I'm just using it as a resource, fuck off
> Implying I'm the other fucking anon when I'm not while you act like a jackass who thinks they know everything about isekai when they don't especially since they actually have to watch/read about hundreds in order to say anything, but instead, they spew bullshit out of their ass.
technically Re;Monster too except MC is too busy fucking bitches to remember to leave his sex cave
the premise of an MC being backstabbed (usually literally) and they getting revenge after being reborn with god tier powers is a subset of Issekai
Sakamoto 666 is an atrocious writer, who's a try hard edgelord. All his stories are damn near identical in how they start and progress. I would NOT, honestly, invest any further in this if you had interest.
Besides the "not killing the princess formt he beginning" that's shaping up to be like that. I mean the subtitle for the series is "Demon lord, i'll give you half the world so help me with my revenge" or something.
Well, almost all isekai go by: MC is summoned to another world to do X. MC has some sort of cheat that puts him ahead of the worlds residents. MC has a unique mindset (often an otaku mindset) gives him an advantage and often lets him innovate shit or figure out obvious things that the people of that world can't do or would have figured out thousands of years later. And what >>150047768 says.
In shieldbro, there was been already at least 10 generations of people(all of them japanese otaku) who were summoned before the current set of heroes and brought technological advancements to the
worlds, before or after merging. Some countries still have middle-age infrastructure or similar, while others have tanks, planes, cars and perhaps even working internet.
> Shield hero
Yes and no, why not?
No matter how much it was shit, one jackass does not count as everyone.
> sutereta something
Yeah, I remember. Pretty much everyone abandoned him.
>slice of life isekai
Ha ha, can't wait for
>oh god I can finally make soy sauce!
>in my previous life I didn't really cook much but for some reason all these hot girls are all over my cooking dick!
>and I just revolutionized the food industry in [town!]
>people have literally never heard of this strange cooking invention known as "cake"!
>wow I want soda so much
>well they came to me with this problem and I solved it with [democratic method], now they think I'm a political genius!
>The New Gate is one that handles it decently, in that the progatonist goes out of his way to stay low key. He's very strong to begin with (being that he solo'd the final boss in the death game), and then defeating said boss broke his power scale (but in turn gave him a limiter he can turn on/off, and generally keeps on most of the time).
>this is okay
>but SAO is not okay
>Implying I'm the other fucking anon when I'm not while you act like a jackass responding to me thinking that im the one who caused this mess while im only one of them and you're a dumbass who keeps answering thinking you know everything when you actually have to watch/read about hundreds in order to say anything, but instead, you spew bullshit out of your ass.
>Konoe Yuuto is a genius martial artist who is summoned to a different world where slave trading is legal. There, using his 【Ability Looting ( Skill Taker)】 cheat ability, he steals the abilities of monsters he defeats, and starts building a slave harem while hoping to live a carefree life after retirement.
10 nen goshi no hikiniito is actually a really good slice of life, the MC doesn't know anything because hes a fucking neet who didn't get out of his house for 10 years, so he goes on 2chan to ask how to deal with being isekai'd
Mhmm, but it veers away from SAO mentality very quickly.
Actually, no where close to that.
>he beat the death game
>all his friends logged out
>he was waiting to be the last to log out
>triggered a hidden event
>got transported 500 years into the future
>crazy shit happens
>Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon: Slice of Life edition
>in most recent volume, revealed, that protag's girl got killed in the death game
>also revealed that those that died in the death game, got transported 500 years in the future
>suggested that those that got killed in the death game (aka no logout) may have in fact just been kicked back to the real world
>protag wants to desperately find a way to go home, back to reality
>he's got hot bitches eyeing for his dick
>ignores most of them, because he still loves his girl
>also family in the real world, hinted at having an imouto
>TNG is okay
Arguably, yes; it is. It starts out like SAO, no argument there, but it veers away from SAO pretty quickly. Also, SAO goes from "hey, this could be a fun concept" to "oh god, I'm cringing hard enough to bend steel."
Also, "beta tester + cheater = beater" is just so bad; and the continued repeated use by the voice actors in the anime, which makes it sound like the protagonist is some kind of a chronic masturbator doesn't help reinforcing the cringe.
Come on, I want a little struggle here. Maybe have a guy with a nifty but still weak power and stays weak. Can't we have a story like that? Relies on wits and mind while having no harem (the side character can because he is so generic). Have a story like that.
i don't know about hero bbs but 10 nen goshi went like this
>holy shit im isekai'd
>lets get my dogger and find a way to do shit
>oh shit i dont know how to do shit
>im on 2chan
>i got isekai'd what do
>anon: sounds fake, time stamp it
2 videos later
>anon: holy shit he got isekai'd
We could. Typically depends more on the setting than anything. It'll either lead to them being a political activist or they're useful like Subaru. And politics bores people. How else are you suppose to showcase epicness without your character being able to venture out to high level areas?
Hero bbs is about heroes who help other heroes with their heroing by setting up some extra-dimensional BBS. There's many heroes, and some are "out there". It's a fun read, it ends in a hero meetup.
What would that shittier version be though specifically? I can recall Area D's being something like he's not used to the abilities instantly so it fucks him up to even use them at all.
I stand corrected, different isekai death and transport.
>Knigths and Magic
>software engineer, does a good job, is a productive member of society
>technically doesn't need to be isekai'd as he's atypical than the traditional jap shut in
Honestly, I'm shocked. SHOCKED, that no LN author has run with the concept that Truck-kun gets isekai'd, and is transported to a world where there's only horse drawn buggies and rarely first generation motor vehicles--whose primary purpose is to run over people to send them to different isekai worlds. But Truck-kun, being Truck from a farther future, has broken powers compared to the rest. So Truck-kun is WAY better at running over characters ranging from elementary school age children all the way to mature, working adults.
You'd read that wouldn't you?
Make an isekai with these elements /a/:
> Have to have some reason for transport without sounding convoluted.
> MC is weak and has no special snowflake ability while he/she must rely on his mind to fight using traps and rely on very crude magical items (that are not too convenient)
> No harem, can have romance but only up to one or love triangle as long as it is not sappy.
> Have bromance.
As much as we all love the thighs, I'm afraid that is not isekai. Kyle is supreme.
Are you kidding, the nudist pervert is literally bromance in it's entirety.
It's all about the thighs and Zettai Ryouki anon. That said, sensei a best.
But seriously, Yuusha ga Shinda checks off basically every single item here: >>150048239 without being an isekai.
What happened to Ainz?
Nigga just feel asleep and him in mmo skelly body plus his whole castle got transported to a fantasy world?
Personally I think that power fantasy and wish fulfillment is good because they fully utilize the point of fiction as a form of escapism. People who don't like them still have an attachment to reality that it's hilarious to see them sperg out at it.
>blackmail the first fucking store in town for an expensive ass cane when no one from the party even knows magic
>think nobody will get tired of his shit because "MUH HERO"
>AFTER MANY CHAPTERS STILL THINKS LOOKING LIKE THE HERO AND ACTING LIKE SHIT WILL GET HIM ANYTHING BUT BEATEN UP
I think the notion is valid, while he did get the heroes powers; he still trolls and fucks with his opponents by trapping them using said powers. That said, he does actively try to go the pragmatic way by relying on traps, but everyone forces him to use magical powers.
Which is ironic, due to the fact that it's overwhelmingly been proven that the entire universe is retarded when it comes to the idea of traps. The great hero died, tons of demons have been laid waste to traps; even one of the biggest fights in the manga, was won via clever trap usage.
>Yuuna, sister, sensei, princess, anri
False. He has feelings for Yuuna exclusively. HOWEVER, he has everlasting feelings for Sister, Sensei, Princess, Anri, and countless other girls and women's THIGHS. DISTINCTION IS IMPORTANT.
Stop the bullshit.
> Only one girl!
That would be valid if he were not surrounded by men and women interested in him romantically (even the men). It's harem, get over it.
Plus he should have stayed weak with no powers. So no.
I forgot to mention that it's also explicitly mentioned at the beginning of the novel, and the first episode of the anime that guild weapons are rarely removed from the safest place in the guild since they're basically the heart of a guild, and destroying it, collapses the guild. Therefore it wouldn't make sense that multiple people (8GK and Ainz both) would be holding guild weapons when they were transported.
>Succubus queen summons MC because she already fucked all the virgins in the world and needs virgin semen to power-up or whatever.
>No special snowflake abilities because he's not there to be a hero or anything.
>Another succubus saves(?) him and helps(?) him escape, later becomes the love interest.
>Bromance: A bitter nobleman who was saving his virginity for his waifu aids the MC in saving the world.
Ok, I have an idea.
> MC is summoned with class because he is within the area of circle where generic mc-kun is.
> World is where magical arts prevail.
> MC has only one unique but ultimately useless ability for battle. That is having all elements of magic but very watered down in terms of strength (like a big fireball compared to a really small fireball).
> MC is too weak to fight, so he eventually leaves.
> MC finds interest in alchemy when he runs out of money and cannot find work eventually leading him to alchemy within a shop where he meets his first friend.
To be cont. Give me a moment.
Probably the guildmaster was holding the guild weapon so their base and all of the members got transported but it might as well be as you say.
Anon the MC in new gate is so fucking mary sue it hurts.
>has a 10/10 elf waifu that used to be his NPC servant and is madly devoted to him
>gets a fox loli who is madly in love with him, obtained in the span of 1-2 chapters
>princess of the kingdom openly announces that she would marry any "high human" which the MC is
>gets a male sidekick who is basically there just to make him look cool (see what happened during the priestess training arc)
>priestess is obviously being setup to be rescued by the MC at some point and then she will join his harem
>uses the "join an adventurers guild, hide power and start at lowest rank" trope unironically
>MC goes on an adventure with some seasoned adventurers, except that anything that can threaten the MC will be way out of their league and the MC will have to rescue them
>female adventurer is obviously being setup to be part of his harem
The thing is, being also one of the greatest time loop stories, is that the final 'victory' was literally only one timeline. He's been fetched and killed many many times over.
Also, it was deconstruction in that for all his big shit, when he gets thrown out there, boy does he suffer. And in most canon storylines, they don't succeed, leading to Alt V and the nightmare of The Day After.
In nearly all timelines, either he dies, or has become so pained over all their deaths that he practically is a robot.
It's also different in that many of the people he meets he already knows from his world.
that would require them having prior knowledge of the transfer, Ainz had zero indication, not even an effect or sound, everything was suddenly changed without rhyme or reason. That was why i said it didn't make sense. Until we get clarification it's all conjecture
to be honest ID was great only because the MC was a trap. The fact that the MC instantly gets power from the start of the series that makes the strongest heroes of the fantasy world a joke ruins it.
>there will never be porn of ID
MC gets transported into a fantasy world when his dimensional portal malfunctions. To get back home he needs resources so he has to go full spicy wolf. To do that he enlist the help of a traveling merchant that he apprentices under to show him the ropes so that the merchant gets money and the MC gets the resources he needs to return home.
All about a merchant and scientist comparing modern and medieval economic notes while traveling through various places to find the items and wealth they want. There is no romance though being adventurers they seduce a lot of women none of them are reoccurring so there is no harem (think Kirk/Casanova)
I read something like this. Some soldier dude gets isekai'd instead of going back in time to undo whatever bullshit turned japan into some cybernetic dystopia and now has to deal with magic and shit.
Oh fuck that's also a thing
People actually liked the stuck in RPG aspect of SAO (ie first 3 episodes). It's just the random relationship problems, drama, beater stuff and the other things that turned people off of SAO.
Otome Isekai subgenre has already done this kinda shit for years now you're too fucking late.
>MC gets transported/reincarnated into the last Otome game she played
>Gets stuck in the body of the villainess
>Has to unfuck herself before the heroine ruins her with her special snowflake powers while staying the fuck away from all the best boys
>Ends up forming a reverse harem NTRing the heroine and inviting their TUE fueled wrath due to being nice to the best boys hoping they won't fuck MC later down the line
Well at least Otome Isekai MCs are usually powered by nothing but modern knowledge and being born into richness. It's basically like a jew simulator fighting against Superman only girls don't know shit about the military.
There's a lot of them. >>150049170 and >>150049214.
-Master of Monster
-I became the weakest skeleton
-Shinka no Mi
-Boku wa Isekai de Fuyo Mahou to Shoukan Mahou wo Tenbin ni Kakeru
And much more. To be honest, it's probably the second most common form of isekai stories (besides having only the MC reincarnate).
it will be more about going to new places and treasure hunting then harems and power fantasy. Every time they have something their flaws completely ruin it Cowboy Bebop/Blackadder style
Magic is prevalent but neither character efficient at it but they acquire magic items that, on one hand, are OP, on the other, have limited use and are too valuable they would only use it on desperate situations so it's mostly there to enforce status quo than winning everything
>find item that can get them rich/help MC get back
>oh no monster!
>we have to use item
>no we can't!
>left with nothing
kinda like that
Boku wa Isekai de Fuyo Mahou to Shoukan Mahou wo Tenbin ni Kakeru maybe?
Entire school (both people and structures) get isekai'd.
>Boku wa Isekai de Fuyo Mahou to Shoukan Mahou wo Tenbin ni Kakeru
Oh thanks. This was the one. I was hoping to check on it since I haven't in a very long time. Like a year. I also got three other pretty cool recs.
> MC actually robbed alchemist of his food. Not really so much as befriend him. Alchemist tells him to get out. MC apologizes but continues to eat. Alchemist eventually gets tired and just stays in a chair until MC finishes.
> Soon, mc just gets a job as an assistant to Alchemist as he learns the basics of alchemy.
> Alchemy is mainly used to enchant certain items and make elemental stones that release a surge of mana correlating to the element.
> To alchemize, one must require a ritual sign that also correlates to the ouroboros infinity. Then, when the ritual sign is placed out, concentrated mana must be used as a catalyst to "create" an enchantment. Either through liquid (which is much more controlled and contained than a surge of energy from mana) or a mana source.
> Alchemy is not really used for combat due to practicality of just casting spells rather than making a ritual circle that takes time.
> MC creates an ouroboros circle that correlates to fire element. Experiments with a fireball (which is basically just surging mana in form of the element fire)
To be continued.
I wish I saw more people go Nuclear against their manipulators
Venom...you were the real deal...and your phantom took everything from you
>eugeo was the only thing that kept me going
It still hurts, anon.
One of rare cases where you can easily see that author has 0 writing skill after just a few chapters
Not only character development jumps a mile in a minute but also the plot itself feels like i read it already
Weak schoolboy MC together with classmates that dont like him end up in parallel fantasy world, then those classmates end up abandoning MC in the "leveling cave" that ends up being too hard for him, MC goes maximum edgy and now uses gun to kill enemies like in muh cool murkan movies about ice cold killas
Im pretty sure there other manga with such plot that is at least written better(and drawn too)
Well of course it's not always true, but that applies to male MC isekai shit as well. Nothing is ever always true cause people even write shit just to subvert any kind of trope these days.
The point is, what OP said is retarded considering heroine isekai stories have been doing it ages ago to the point where it's its own subgenre.
And for the most part while I think there aren't many that are super high quality they seem to be a lot less cringe worthy on average, like their range is a lot smaller in how bad or how good the stories go. But maybe I just haven't read enough.
Then again a girl as a MC gets a lot of leeway. I don't think I'd find Defense Specialized as amusing if it wasn't a loli.
Only Isekai I'm reading nowadays is Warlock in Magus World and History's Strongest Founder
WMW the chear (Ai chip) gives the MC an edge but doesn't completely make him "better than all mages forever" (any Magus with a rank higher than his can wipe the floor with him). History's strongest founder is a great parody of Xianxia novels (as well as blatant rip-off of some of them) with the MC having the best poker face ever.
reading other novels but they aren't Isekai
Hey, that plot line was really cool the first times around. I was super excited, nowadays, nothing as exciting as guns blazing.
Arifureta is still my favorite.Unless you guys have found something new and fresh. I like my power fantasies but lately they haven't been as hype and creative.
Why isn't there any isekai where the MC actually already unique in the original world?
You know, imagine if someone like
Jason vorheestransported to another world.
Mr. Beantransported to another world.
Just a thought.
>abandon mc in the "leveling cave"
0% clear rate. How do people know it's a leveling cave if no one ever returned from it? I mean it is clearly a leveling cave but without anyone coming back out to verify it then how would they know?
There's that LN about a modern warlock getting thrown into an isekai setting where everyone's magic sucks shit compared to his.
Something something the other world's magic is too far behind.
>warlock of the magus world
My nigga. Leylin going aloof in the underground world is comfy. I can't believe how much time he's wasted faffing about waiting for his sea of consciousness to stabilize. Fucker's already over 40 years old.
Would you believe i had an edit for something just like this
Any isekai where the MC gets reincarnated as a voluptuous dark elf in a shitty fantasy ryona nukige world and has to eke out survival in the world by avoiding obvious BAD END rape scenarios?
The translator chose this "revenge against orc rape" instead of a good deconstruction of a hero. It hurts. Yes, it would classify as a deconstruction, yes.
No, not in the power/magic department. More in the personality. The character I mention had a weird way of thinking that people never expect and would came out as retardedly genius or geniusly retarded.
It's not about the power or ability, it's about the weird personality, the unexpected way of thinking. The "how would he unfuck this up?" while he still getting fucked up in the end.
If there is something like that please do mention. That first two anon that mention didn't goes the way that I mention, they just a normal rational person with successful life or have gifted abilities and that's not what I'm looking for.
Also answer like "there is like that but you're just don't know" really imply that you actually don't know what you're talking about and didn't contribute at all.
Goblin Slayer is the closest thing that was like I mentioned but still
The annoying thing about most "whole school gets transported" stories is that it's usually some kind of "everybody is against me" otaku persecution complex revenge power fantasy instead of an opportunity to have an ensemble cast of varying personalities and roles with complex networks of relationships, actual factional politics, and collaborative achievement.
So you basically want and episode of Sakamoto desu ga where the whole classroom get transported to another world and they all worked together to come back home?
Because I'm very much want to watch/read that
How can a personality count as special snowflake? You'd have to be really fucking NEET and lack social interactions to think someone can have a personality that's so unique that it could rival a special snowflake power. Any examples you can come up with people can be simplified down if you just stop making a big deal out of their traits.
For example, Youjo Senki has a genuinely cold and calculating MC while looks at basically everything through gains and losses, and even tries to rationalize his emotional outbursts trying to wrap logic around it when he's surrounded by death and paranoia. That's pretty unique relative to typical Isekai MCs because he's not a fucking loser, but an actual elite in his life on the fast track to the top, but at the end of the day whether he's in management or not you can sum him up as "Salaryman" and that's fucking true too.
Defense Specialized has a character who is super naive and clueless about vidya in a setting where VR has already become the norm. This leads her to do silly moeblob shit that 'no one' would ever think of because they don't expect the system of the game to even allow such possibilities. But at the end of the day you can just call her moe shit and be done with it.
Dark Mage, a gook novel, has a special snowflake MC in his original world where he's basically akin to Hitler (though he was set up mind you and played like a fiddle) in wuxia (or whatever gook wuxia is called), but then he gets abducted into a western fantasy world to fight against a bunch of dragons and monsters cause white people suck ass at cultivation. He's 'unique' in the sense that he's lived a life where he's hated due to his deformed looks, small body, and dark background as the son of a former leader of the 'dark sect' or whatever shit, so unlike your typical Isekai MC he's literally been brushing with death and getting fucked over by everyone since his birth but anyone can say "Yeah that's how I'd react to".
>Shy nerd girl playing a middle-earth MMO late at night
>Magic thunderstorm teleports her into the game
>Seems like it's what she always wanted, the game has a bunch of crazy classes like Sword Farmer, Fire Breeder, stuff that's either OP from get go or can be minmaxed
>She gets a character appraisal at the home base and the game permanently defines her as a Statistical Conjurer - the only class that can see things like player/enemy levels, health, magic, vital statistics etc
>She hates it and wants out immediately
Hey Shieldbro, thanks for showing me that manga your name seems to be based off of. Mind recommending some others of this type, it's the first of its kind (besides the OP) that I decided to look at, pretty fun so far.
MC is a useless shit loser with a neglectful family and no friends at school. His childhood friend is a popular genuinely nice guy who got separated from him in high school, and the only thing that keeps him going. One day Childhood Friend is hit by a Japanese truck and dies. MC in despair plans on committing suicide at a chance of joining his friend in the afterlife, by throwing himself in front of a truck at the same place his friend died.
He wakes up in a generic isekai setting. His friend was chosen as the hero in this vaguely game-like world and sent off alone to defeat the Demon King, MC only ended up there because the latent magic that pulled Friend into the world hadn't faded and he completed the same summoning ritual. Because MC wasn't meant to be summoned, he receives no cheats and has to fight with his wit to catch up to his friend who was chosen by destiny.
>MC is a max AGI character with no other points in any other stat.
Exactly, that's why I want someone that can't be predicted. Look at my example, Mr. bean.
Riding a car on a sofa on top of the car, painting the room with a fireworks, and his lunch session with all the stuffs on his coat.
First time you watch it you just wonder how he will unfuck things up. His autistic behaviour to match things like other people in a retarded way.
You don't expect that the first time you seeing it.
And at end of the day, you can sum him up as what? I can't even think of one. And you can't even say "yeah that's how I'd react too if given situation" because you don't. And it's not even in "everyone become a retard" kind of way, it's not in "why can't he just do this?" kind of way.
It's more like "holy shit, this fucking madman" kind of way if you understand what I'm saying. Gah, like Sakamoto, yes that's the closest thing.
I'm looking for a mango or light novel or real novel or fucking webnovel on either of the following:
Noblebright fantasy character/characters sent to a grimdark fantasy setting, seeing what happens.
Grimdark fantasy character/characters sent to a noblebright fantasy setting, seeing what happens.
Basically my life's dream is to see what happens when a fucker like this is sent into the usual "you're an RPG character/asian mmo" world. Not for general "oh man he's so badass" wankery, but legitimate curiosity.
>Why does she hate it? Cause it's 'weak' or cause it ruins the fantasy with the vidya?
Imagine being a powerless introvert playing a tank or a mage online and taking support, healers etc for granted. Then you're thrown into the game and you have this superpower of information and floating HUDs you can't turn off - everyone you see or talk to, particularly in parties or crowded lobbies. When you overcome that hurdle, you realise you're locked into a class you have no experience with, that on the surface seems even less offensively capable than a healer. Everyone needs you around because you're the only person able to see the stats, but you're a liability outside of that.
>not this guy
He's a 1020 year old virgin with a couple of angels over his head. Sure he didn't get isekai'd, but he's still in an isekai novel.
What? What's with the staff?
Was there any explanation given to why something from a game was transported to another world, and the NPCs of it were given full intelligence? Magic from this world or whatever? This sounds so ridiculous compared to the usual isekai.
>MC gets sent into a sci-fi world at war
>Enlists in the army because he thinks getting to operate a giant robot is fucking cool
>His "cheat" is that being a military history otaku he's better than your average high-schooler at military tactics
>Klendathu Drop ensues
And the story is about how the MC who has grown up in a pacifistic postwar Japan, whose young people have slowly started to glorify war because of how far removed they have become from the War in the Pacific, comes to appreciate that even war dressed up with Gundams and spaceships and shiny sci-fi trappings is still hell.
An isekai where everyone on the planet is actually just a high school student from japan and they all live normal fantasy lives.
except for the main character who was born in the fantasy world
Either not an isekai.
Or the an isekai with the MC being a girl that gets reborn as a monster girl.
Either way, I want more fantasy stuff with an unusual girl as a MC. The kind of girl that is usually a secondary character but who is best girl.
>main guy and main girl are dick dastardly-tier space criminals on trial by the galactic foundation
>as punishment for their crimes, they're put into hypersleep as their souls are teleported into a different universe
>if they can reform themselves sufficiently they'll be brought out of stasis
>every story arc involves a completely different setting and a secret test of character set by the foundation
>MC is an mmo pro nippon banzai
>wakes up one day along with all his other friends in a fantasy MMO-like world
>starts walking out into the world
>hits the terrain wrong and starts falling through the world
>respawns in westfall
From there, the MC and his friends work to survive in the dogshit, buggy MMO world. They grapple onto flying chinese mining bots to travel from place to place, exploit geometry to wallwalk, and try to duplicate items.
The Christmas cake is from a fantasy setting, the alternate world is modern Japan, the reason she has to pass herself off as a schoolgirl is in order to get the education necessary to contribute to society.
>he didn't know.
4chan have the largest female percentage of any forum posters, including supposedly only female forums for women beauty and healthcare.
pic related walking around a setting filled with hormonal boys and girls, relying on them to help her understand their culture
how could it possibly go wrong
Well i assume the staff represents AOG and everything it represents and also is it's master control so it would only make sense that the whole guildbase was also transported. But like the other anon said it could also be conjecture until we know more.
You never go full agility. You'll regret going full agility
Well if you mean betrayal isekai and stuff then i don't know a lot of them other than arifureta and that manga in the OP. If you mean isekai/reincarnation manga then i'd reccomend Mushoku tensei, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, kumo desu ga nani ka, but you'd better be off reading the TLs of the WNs/LNs if available
>See, that's the danger of going fast. If you ever stop, you're done for.
but sometimes you HAVE to stop or you're done for.
Never forget Burger-kun.
If he doesn't get betrayed he becomes the nicest person you'll ever meet.
Boo Boo is pure even when meeting
one of the people responsible for killing the rest of the orcs. The only one that comes close to being as pure is shota Shinobu, but he isn't Isekai (unless you count the crossover but that's teenage Shinobu so it still doesn't count.)
Also, his cheat skill ends up being completely useless in the final fight and he has to half-ass it and kill his entire harem to squeeze out a bittersweet win.
Hell, the LI is explicitly raped into a slut and nuked.
Luck isn't a stat D&D to begin with. Also minmaxing in D&D is less "100 in DEX 0 in everything else" and more "18 in DEX but only 6 in CHA and 8 in WIS", because you usually roll or point buy in ways that have a functional cap on how high or low abilities can go.
slice of life isekay where normal gamers have to begin as lvl 1 and no memory of former world...
aka Grimgar with less edge
>MC gets "accidentally" summoned (along side the 4 heroes of light) due to a botched summon
>the botched summon resulted in a "glitch", corrupting his data
>his class is now "dancer" and he is genderbent with a new avatar that doesn't resemble his previous appearance
>dancers have pathetically low stats and are worthless in combat (they cannot even equip weapons)
>because of his uselessness, he is kicked out of the castle and left to fend for himself
>the story focuses more on the 4 heroes of light and the MC is reduced to a joke character
>twist: one of his dances is needed to beat the final boss
>This is the same character.
How is this even possible?
Dancers can be very useful in combat anon
Then what's the point? Just have them as naive noob adventurers.
And as edgy as Grimgar begins, doesn't it just turn into an harem by volume 9, with fatman dead and dark knight gone?
Would you allow a necrophiliac loli to rape you anon? Also why the fuckare you faggots still not reading Dungeon Defense. It's the saviour of isekai.
>MC gets transported to another world
I do. I pretty much read this mainly for Barbatos. I hear she wins in the novels or something, so the LN better not disappoint me.
I'd like to just say that genderbender in isekai is like the most pointless thing ever.
Because 90% of MCs functionally end up being more or less lesbians. They more or less act like a perfect feminine lady the moment they get their new body with the only "masculine" trait carried over being a lust for cute girls and have zero qualms with their situation besides "ew guys are icky get away from me". Lucky for them every girl in the other world seems to be bisexual/lesbian.
I mean, why not just write a fucking lesbian to begin with? Why go through this dance of "oh lol I was a guy in my past life but you'd never guess it because I have the highest girl power in the cast."
almost as if they're wish fulfillment fantasies
Should have dump all points into wisdom
Can't say I don't like a character who can nurse a grudge.
I would like to see a scifi/space opera isekai, preferably without big robots.
>MC gets sent to the last a video game fantasy
>Something bad happens and he die
>He is auto-rezzed but he loses part of
>He has to regain it through fighting and leveling again
>On the way he meets qt girls who are also on their own quests
>Fun adventure time happens where he eventually meets his love
>His love is a strong loli boss (MC has a fetish for lolidom)
>He joins the loli's side in hopes of love
>He abandons his previous comrades
>Slowly but surely, he turns into a monster
>Starts eating the adventurers who come to attack his loli master
>Loli has sex with him
>A brave hero comes to kill him/loli boss
>Both of them die
>He is sent back to real world
>He has nothing except his knowledge of the fantasy world
>He commits suicide
>not splitting your points into atk and agi
It's isekai in theory but not really, since the main character is a person actually from that world who shares his body with the souls of two people from our world- a japanese samurai and some highschool student
There isn't that much challenge but it's not obnoxious either, also the main character's OPness in the context of the world comes from the fact that his nobleman parents are also generals on the kingdom's frontier who are skilled in combat as a result of frequent wars, and thus he receives combat training from them. So him being unnaturally good at combat derives less from having the soul of a Japanese warlord inside of him and more because his parents are hardasses.
Honestly this story could have just been entirely fantasy, I imagine the isekai part was only included because isekai is more popular than straight fantasy nowadays.
What's with so much people hating on Re-monster? It's litterally only because he's overpowered? The guy is no different from what the player would be if it's a game.
What makes it fun is how he keeps extending his group, and the rest is also focused on. The girls are nice and while it's a harem (who cares?) there is also still a best bro that gets his own buff girl. The fact they're mostly monsters ives it a nice change for the characters design, and they're such a cute and fun group.
You really have to hate fun to hate this kind of series. And don't begin complaining about "there are no deaths from the main cast side", it's not this kind of series.
While on the subject. why is Ainz so good at bluffing?
Am I supposed to believe he's your bog standard japanese salary man. is his actual broken skill not being a 100 level skelly but cheeky cunt tier persuasion?
