The New Gate is one that handles it decently, in that the progatonist goes out of his way to stay low key. He's very strong to begin with (being that he solo'd the final boss in the death game), and then defeating said boss broke his power scale (but in turn gave him a limiter he can turn on/off, and generally keeps on most of the time).

It's technically an isekai story, but ironically, the writing and pacing comes across more as a Slice of Life Isekai than a "hurr durr so broken so wow hurrr" Isekai.

It's not great by any measure, and sometimes the pacing drags a lot; half of Volume 3 is basically breakfast, exposition, gathering gear, and more exposition--then a trip into the mountains.

So far it's still one Isekai that I enjoy, and the other one is Knights and Magic.

Protag of Knights & Magic is a software engineer, who's also a massive mecha otaku that got killed by a sudden knife attack (because he protected his kouhai and kouhai's fianceé to be). He gets transported into a world where there's mecha knights, and he strives to be a knights engineer. The book goes to great lengths to show off the whole engineering side of isekai mecha than it does combat and the like, though there is a decent amount of that.

It is, nonetheless, isekai; so naturally gifted and super talented with foreign world knowledge galore. It's a silly and amusing read.

The thing is, being also one of the greatest time loop stories, is that the final 'victory' was literally only one timeline. He's been fetched and killed many many times over.

How can a personality count as special snowflake? You'd have to be really fucking NEET and lack social interactions to think someone can have a personality that's so unique that it could rival a special snowflake power. Any examples you can come up with people can be simplified down if you just stop making a big deal out of their traits.

For example, Youjo Senki has a genuinely cold and calculating MC while looks at basically everything through gains and losses, and even tries to rationalize his emotional outbursts trying to wrap logic around it when he's surrounded by death and paranoia. That's pretty unique relative to typical Isekai MCs because he's not a fucking loser, but an actual elite in his life on the fast track to the top, but at the end of the day whether he's in management or not you can sum him up as "Salaryman" and that's fucking true too.

Defense Specialized has a character who is super naive and clueless about vidya in a setting where VR has already become the norm. This leads her to do silly moeblob shit that 'no one' would ever think of because they don't expect the system of the game to even allow such possibilities. But at the end of the day you can just call her moe shit and be done with it.

Dark Mage, a gook novel, has a special snowflake MC in his original world where he's basically akin to Hitler (though he was set up mind you and played like a fiddle) in wuxia (or whatever gook wuxia is called), but then he gets abducted into a western fantasy world to fight against a bunch of dragons and monsters cause white people suck ass at cultivation. He's 'unique' in the sense that he's lived a life where he's hated due to his deformed looks, small body, and dark background as the son of a former leader of the 'dark sect' or whatever shit, so unlike your typical Isekai MC he's literally been brushing with death and getting fucked over by everyone since his birth but anyone can say "Yeah that's how I'd react to".

MC is a useless shit loser with a neglectful family and no friends at school. His childhood friend is a popular genuinely nice guy who got separated from him in high school, and the only thing that keeps him going. One day Childhood Friend is hit by a Japanese truck and dies. MC in despair plans on committing suicide at a chance of joining his friend in the afterlife, by throwing himself in front of a truck at the same place his friend died.

He wakes up in a generic isekai setting. His friend was chosen as the hero in this vaguely game-like world and sent off alone to defeat the Demon King, MC only ended up there because the latent magic that pulled Friend into the world hadn't faded and he completed the same summoning ritual. Because MC wasn't meant to be summoned, he receives no cheats and has to fight with his wit to catch up to his friend who was chosen by destiny.
