5/4 Masterrace!

Do you guys actually read the sheet music for it or are you just able to tell by ear?
>>

It's not that difficult.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=95EQm1ndKJA
>>
>>150017791
I sucked at noticing rhythms, got better and now I'm here.
>>
>>150017820
For some people.

Whilst learning guitar I took a music theory course(high school level, so not too difficult.) The bitch teacher would give us tests to see if we could listen to instrumental and call which notes are being played. I was never able to figure it out. The rest of the class was ezpz though.
>>
>>150017791
Its honestly not hard if you've played an instrument for more than a few years

Song for Friends from Little Busters is 7/8 for the verse and 4/4 for the chorus.

The ending of Subete ga F ni naru was mostly in 7/4. That song is also the only good part of the show.

From what I remember, most of the Death Note stuff were in odd time signatures and/or had changing time signatures.
>>

... I think. I only took a bit of music back in school.
>>
>>150017791
It is insanely easy to do by ear with barely any experience, just count along with it and you will get the hang quick.

yeah that shit was crazy
>>
>>150019380
Definitely sounds like 3/4 time to me.

Recognizing which major or minor scale a song is in is pretty bull though.

4/4 is the same thing as 1
so 4/4 time is 1 time
meaning that the whole song is played one time

if, for instance, you had 3/4 time (also known as hammer time), only 75% of the song would play

It's definitely 3/4, with an anacrusis, so the first beat you hear is the "3rd" of that bar. If it's written properly the song would end on the 2nd beat.
>>
>>150020998
I'm pretty sure they do in overwhelming majority of first world countries.

In terms of notation, there isn't one. You could go full retard and denote it as 24/4 if you wanted to. It's more about the "feel" of the song.

Where I live kids are only forced to take up an instrument in elementary school, and they can continue playing as an extra class if they wind up wanting to stay with it. In middle school you're required to take a single music class between chorus or band.

So by the time high school rolls around unless you've already been playing an instrument since childhood anyone that attempts to join a music class is considered a lost cause and gets stuck on percussion.
>>
>>150022001

The music system in the school I went to was that basically, you only had music class in elementary school, and even then, it was pretty basic, nothing really stuck unless you were already interested. You had the option to join Choir, which basically took all comers as long as you could hold a note, and two programs that taught guitar and saxophone respectively, nothing else.

As it is, I imagine with most schools, even in first world countries, would have had a similar system, where only students that actively sought out more training learned jack shit about actual music, otherwise it was just in one ear, out the other.
>>
>>150023164

>>
>>150020959
Even if they did wouldn't you just forget it after a few years if you don't have much to do with music?
>>
>>150023600
My best guess is that it's a clusterfuck of various time signatures that goes in this order: 5/8, 2/4, 5/8, 2/4, 4/4, 2/4, 5/8, 2/4, 3/8.
