/a/ doesn't, but her appeal is she's a feisty girl who has enough self-awareness to avoid being an annoying tsundere. She falls for a good guy (no bullshit with getting used by bad boys first), is able to come to terms with her feelings, and is devoted to him afterwards. Even though it's all anime as fuck, the way they don't drag it out forever in a will-they-won't-they gives her a veneer of realism, too. It's like she's slightly more 3D than most 2D, without any 3DPD.

You should be asking why /a/ hates her so much instead cause will actually make sense. And the answer to this is because of a certain autistic Stellafag who went around shitposting in the most obnoxious manner you could image a spammer would do in battle harem threads belonging to other shows in last Fall. That's only half the reason though, the other part is because Stella is a bad character mauled by terrible development and romantic writing, especially compared to Ouka and Julis from the same season.

She Starts off Tsundere because the MC walks in on her undressing because the Dean put them in the same room together without telling either of them. Stella after slapping the MC for suggesting he gets naked to appolgize goes to confront the Dean like a normal human being would about this. A few tsundere antics ensue and they decide on a duel to see who owns the room. MC wins because while he's got shit all for Int his Str/Dex/Per is god damn amazing. Stella then learns the MC was not only abandoned by his family, but they used their power over the previous Dean to prevent the MC from taking his required classes to pass a year which held him back. I wasn't around when Rakudai aired, but I'm not so sure about it. I think Stella would be treated like Julis if Stellafag didn't exist, so she would have some fans but most people wouldn't care for her.

The show was awful, but I will say I was surprised by the fact they actually entered a mutual relationship with one another. I feel like it's rare in anime especially harem/shonen ones where the MC actually picks one girl instead of being wishy washy and dragging all the girls along.

There was nothing in particular I enjoyed about Asterisk other than a handful of side characters.

Rakudai at least had the mind to focus on some admittedly great looking fights. To be fair, I don't like either series but Rakudai did delivered something decent with the amount of work they put in the action sequences. None of Asterisk's fights aside from 2 really felt all that exciting.

This is a problem I've also seen in other battle harems. They start with an interesting premise and then they waste time with uninteresting villains and subplots. Rakudai was somewhat decent in this regard, but yeah, it should have focused more on Stella.

Asterisk tried to make use of its naturally big tournament style setting but sort of fell flat when the main crew was pretty lackluster compared to the other academies. I mean, one school had the tech and the other was full of edgelords, what the hell did their school specialize?

Rakudai had the overall same tournament style except this was the qualifying rounds and they spent a sufficient amount of time preparing for each opponent like a boss-battle. It definitely felt like each fight had a lot more weight to it.

Both classic and modern have alternating tsun and dere progression. Modern is just stronger and shifts to one and the other rather than mixing tsun and dere. Moderns are typically adorable and often easier to take in due to more dere in the early stages, anyhow.

Actually she is the ideal girl for the horny teens that are the targeted demographic of most battle harem. If you wouldn't have considered a girl like her ideal when you were a teen then you were probably a really weird guy.
