If you're looking for good deals, definitely check out the two Jungle stores in Akiba, you get a discount if you show them your passport for purchases more then 10,000 yen. I got Sayla (Gundam 0079) and Satsuki (Koi no Chocolate) figures for pretty cheap.

Nakano Broadway is a must, there's a nice small game shop on the way there that has good deals if you're into imports.

Don't spend too much time in Ikebukuro other then the Sunshine City Mall. Last year wasn't too bad, but when I came back to Ikebukuro this year, it was pretty much all fujoshit stuff. Unless you're into that kind of thing.

Lot of cute girls though that will give you weird looks, because you can't read Japanese and you accidentally walked into a floor of yaoi doujins, and the escalator going down is on the other side of the room.

Also if you go to Osaka, make sure you stop by Den Den Town. I personally liked Den Den Town more then Akiba.

Don't forget to get Melon Bread Ice Cream in Shibuya before you leave Tokyo.

A lot of shipgirls have a flavor of the month status that makes them pretty popular for some time since they're very hyped by the game devs and have a lot of lines/interactions with previous characters so that prints money among people who buy bishoujo/moe figs.
Abyssals on the other hand don't really have too much screen time in the game or aren't very hyped by the devs and while their designs are usually more interesting or look better for display than most shipgirls they're not 100% "moe" because of their weaponry so that doesn't make them that popular among the people who buy bishoujo statues. It's kind of a shame really because a lot of them would look so great for display.

I believe that is because of the way Kotobukiya have made them, like having a different chibi proportions that nendos, it allow them to use fabric clothes more easily, also the magnet on their feets makes them more easy to pose, also you don't need to partswap everytime you change the pose, something that you constantly have to do with nendos (I known that this isn't a big issue for some people, but for others it is, that's comes down to personal perference tbqh)
I got some nendos and more recently some poches and I have to say that both are great, but if Koto keeps making all those extra accessories/bodies and outfits, it will be hard to resist.
GSC have made some good extra bodies and face parts, but they have made the mistake of releasing them as store exclusives. fuck that!

I really don't know. It's weird. Hyouka was also pretty popular. It was by Kadokawa. But for some reason it didn't get a Nendo as well.

Chuunibyou on the other hand, there's a Cu-Poche available. I wish we could really know the reason why. I think there are a lot of shows which are way more niche than any KyoAni shows of late yet still managed to get a Nendo or two.
